LISBON - In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a case of compelling prostitution, a third-degree felony; attempted, a fourth-degree felony; and possession of criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony, against John S. Caputa, 43, Medina, was bound over to the Columbiana County Grand Jury. Caputa is accused of agreeing to pay $400 for sexual conduct with 15-year-old female in response to an ad posted by an undercover agent of the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force and traveling to East Palestine July 10 for the exchange.
A sentencing hearing was set Sept. 18 for David E. Collins, 52, Stewart Road, Salem, charged with domestic violence for choking a household member and holding her against a wall in Perry Township Sept. 7.
An arraignment was set Oct. 16 for Crystal Rae Hoskinson, 32, North Lundy Avenue, Salem, charged with possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia.
A preliminary hearing and pretrial was set Sept. 14 for Kharyzma Jerkayla Thompson, 22, Martins Ferry, charged with tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony, resisting arrest and drug paraphernalia for allegedly being found in possession of a glass pipe in pack of cigarettes during a traffic stop in St. Clair Township Sept. 7 in which she was a passenger. Thompson allegedly refused to follow orders while being detained and threw the pipe from the pack of cigarettes.
A preliminary hearing and pretrial was set Sept. 14 for Todd Allen Hawthorne, 41, Garner Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony, and no driver's license for allegedly being in possession of a stolen motorcycle Aug. 24 in East Liverpool.
A pretrial was set Sept. 21 for Brandon S. Gust, 25, South Lundy Avenue, Salem, charged with possession of a drug abuse instrument, illegal use/possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct for allegedly being uncooperative with officers who were attempting to take him to friend's house while he was intoxicated, and being found to have syringes in his pocket.
A pretrial was set Sept. 25 for Steven E. Cunningham, 33, Avondale Street, East Liverpool, charged with driving under suspension and possession of drug abuse instruments. A drug court hearing is also set Sept. 25 on charges of carrying a concealed weapon and possession of drug abuse instruments for allegedly having a loaded firearm in his pants and a marijuana cigarette in the vehicle's ashtray May 28, 2022.
A pretrial was set Dec. 4 for Paul W. Manbeck, 35, Cadmus Street, East Liverpool, charged with marijuana possession.
A pretrial was set Dec. 4 for Steffany M. Nussbaumer, 33, Youngstown, charged with illegal use/possession of drug paraphernalia.
A pretrial was set Dec. 7 for Dylan M. Thompson, 20, West Southern Avenue, Columbiana, charged with failure to comply for allegedly fleeing from officers attempting a traffic stop in Columbiana Sept. 7.
A pretrial was set Dec. 11 for William J. Martin, 51, Malvern, charged with criminal damaging for allegedly shattering an outdoor table at a Washington Township home Oct. 19, 2022.
A pretrial was set Dec. 12 for Rocco Barr, 19, Georgetown, Pa., charged with underage consumption.
A pretrial was set Dec. 14 for Alexander Raymond Randall Hawk, 21, Yeager Road, Negley, charged with unauthorized plate and taillights.
A pretrial was set Dec. 14 for Larry James Brown, 37, Stuthers, charged with engaging in prostitution and possession of criminal tools for allegedly traveling to East Palestine Aug. 27 after agreeing to pay $618 for sexual conduct with a female in response to an online ad posted by an undercover agent with the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force.
A pretrial was set Dec. 18 for Kaleb J. Farnsworth, 29, Birch Road, East Liverpool, charged with driving under suspension.
Shane Lee Potts, 32, Avondale Street, East Liverpool, was sentenced to 60 days in jail (nine credited), fined $1,500 and had his license suspended 180 days for failure to stop after an accident, illegal operation of a dealership motor vehicle, expired license, marked lanes, illegal use/possession of drug paraphernalia, drug paraphernalia, theft, criminal trespass, possession of drug abuse instruments and receiving stolen property.
Shane M. Meade, 44, Pearl Street, Leetonia, was sentenced to 180 days in jail (135 suspended, nine credited), fined $650, placed on two years probation, and ordered to complete 20 hours community service and general mental health, anger management and substance abuse assessments, as well as have no contact with the victim for resisting arrest, three counts of disorderly conduct and aggravated menacing.
Amy Jo Verbanovic, 61, West Chestnut Street, Lisbon, was fined $330 for two counts of driving under suspension and no brake light.
Triston Gaven Dean Higgins, 25, Y & O Road, Wellsville, was fined $150 for speed.
Mallory Dawn Stowers, 30, West Sixth Street, East Liverpool, was fined $300 for driving under suspension and speed.
Shartee Millie Lynn Taylor, 27, Erie Street, East Liverpool, was fined $150 for expired license and speed.
Michelle Lynn Hall, 46, Washington Street, Lisbon, was fined $500 for driving under suspension.
Kirsten Marie Goodman, 27, Globe Street, East Liverpool, was fined $40 for speed.
Kurt Allan Ensell, 37, Murray, Ky., was fined $125 for expired license and traffic control devices.
Christopher Harold Valentine, 27, Wilburt Avenue, East Liverpool, was sentenced to three days in jail (one credited) and fined $150 for criminal trespassing.
Joshua P. Ledger, 32, Garner Avenue, East Liverpool, incurred no fine for expired plates.
Ashley N. Click, 27, Bank Street, East Liverpool, incurred no fine for failure to display a valid sticker.
