LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a case against Andrew S. Brown, 39, Elmwood Drive, Lisbon, was bound over to the county grand jury for fifth-degree felony receiving stolen property and misdemeanors of obstructing official business and possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing a stolen cage-enclosed trailer on Sept. 8 in Salem and when approached by police, he gave a false name and possessed a fold of paper used for storage of dangerous drugs.
A case against Kennith R. Jordan, 50, East Pidgeon Road, Salem, was bound over to the county grand jury for fourth-degree felony failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer and misdemeanors of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, OVI refusal, driving under suspension, left of center, reasonable control, speeding, drug paraphernalia, possessing marijuana and marked lanes. Jordan allegedly led troopers on a high-speed chase on a motorcycle on Sept. 11 in Elkrun Township, turned into a private drive and drove into the backyard, eventually crashing and running on foot before being tased and taken into custody. He also possessed a hypodermic needle and suspected marijuana. In other cases, he was fined $550 and sentenced to 20 days in jail, with credit for six days served, for failure to comply with a police officer, two counts driving under suspension and reckless operation. A charge of illegal plates was dismissed.
Frederick Morgan, 58, Youngstown, was fined $750 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and a 12-hour education course. Morgan responded to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranged for sexual activity with a female in exchange for $80, arriving in East Palestine on May 14 for the meeting.
Richard Stoddard, 53, Grove Alley, East Liverpool, was fined $150 for disorderly conduct, amended from assault, for punching another inmate in the face at the county jail in March.
Derek Thompson, 28, St. George Street, East Liverpool, was fined $950 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 120 days suspended and credit for five days served, leaving 55 days to serve in jail, for two counts of assault, two counts disorderly conduct, amended from domestic violence and criminal damaging, and theft. One assault stemmed from him assaulting another inmate at the Columbiana County jail on March 20 by punching him in the head and in the face. Earlier that day, he was charged with domestic violence and criminal damaging for causing or attempting to cause harm to a woman in Wellsville and allegedly breaking the door to get into her house, cussing at her and breaking the back windshield of her car with a tire iron. The other assault charge and the theft stemmed from other incidents.
A pretrial was set Oct. 5 for Nathaniel Courtney, 36, Park Avenue, Salem, charged with domestic violence for allegedly slapping a woman in the face after an argument and throwing coffee at her while she was in her vehicle on Sept. 18 in Salem.
A probation violation hearing was set Oct. 26 for Krysten Ferrebee, 28, West Fourth Street, Salem, for an obstructing official business charge from a Feb. 22, 2022 incident in Salem when she denied a wanted person was in a house.
Charlene Sias, 46, Pancake Clarkson Road, Negley, was fined $1,390 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program for OVI first offense, driving under suspension, no valid license, improper/expired registration and possession of drug abuse instrument. Her driver’s license was suspended for one year and she was ordered to complete 60 hours community service.
Nick Turakly Jr., 34, Fairmont Street, East Liverpool, was fined $1,500 with all but $50 of the fine suspended for three counts of failure to pay city income tax for 2021, 2022 and 2023 in East Liverpool.
Janielle Rauch, 22, Hunters Camp Road, Lisbon, was fined $150 for driving under suspension.
Lisa Mountz, 62, Rose Drive, Lisbon, was fined $200 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for possession of drugs.
Darwin Diaz Cedillo, 38, Canton, was fined $150 for expired license and unauthorized plate.
A pretrial was set Dec. 7 for April Badamo, 22, Anderson Boulevard, East Liverpool, charged with a stop sign violation.
Grand Jury
LISBON — Four defendants served Monday with secret indictments issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury last week included:
— Richard Stoddard, 54, Lincoln Avenue, East Liverpool, fifth-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs for allegedly possessing hydrocodone on May 6, 2022.
— Kira Jackson, 35, Washington Street, Lisbon, third-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs, fifth-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs, both with specifications for forfeiture of money from a drug case, fourth-degree felony receiving stolen property and fifth-degree felony unlawful possession of a dangerous ordnance. Jackson allegedly possessed $632, an amount of methamphetamine greater than bulk amount but less than five times bulk amount, oxycodone, a stolen gun and a firearm muffler or suppressor on Dec. 27, 2021.
— Ronald Melot, 47, Lacroft Avenue, East Liverpool, third-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs for allegedly possessing an amount of methamphetamine greater than bulk amount but less than five times bulk amount on May 9.
— Joshua Griffith, 30, U.S. Route 62, Damascus, three counts nonsupport of dependents, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly failing to pay child support for three children from July 4, 2021 to July 2, 2023.
