LISBON — A Wellsville man received more time for drug offenses recently in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court. Dennis Byers, 36, Chester Avenue, was sentenced to 10 months in a state correctional facility, having pleaded guilty to one count of possession of drugs. The sentence will run concurrently with sentences of his other case which yielded him at least 15 years in prison for possession of cocaine and aggravated possession of drugs, both first-degree felonies which each include a forfeiture of money in a drug case specification, having weapons while under disability, and possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a fourth-degree felony, with a forfeiture specification for money in a drug case.

Also in common pleas court:

— Chelsea Krol, 24, West Garfield Street, Salem, was sentenced to 12 months in prison for third-degree felony possession of hashish with a forfeiture specification for money from a drug case for possessing hashish on July 14, 2022 in an amount equal to or exceeding 50 grams but less than 250 grams, with $176 also in her possession. A charge of trafficking in hashish was dismissed.

— Dalton Owen, 22, Northside Avenue, East Liverpool, was sentenced to three years of community control for fourth-degree felony aggravated assault for strangling a woman with his hands, not letting her leave an East Liverpool apartment, restraining her and then chasing her down the street on April 10.

— Gregory Banfield, 26, Darlington, Pa., was sentenced to two years of community control for fifth-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs.

Municipal

LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary hearing and pretrial was set Sept. 11 for Robert Ames Davis, 38, Maple Street, Lisbon, charged with aggravated burglary, a first-degree felony; burglary, a second-degree felony; robbery, a second-degree felony; and misdemeanor counts of assault and theft, with bond set and $50,000 and an order to have no contact with the victim, for allegedly entering a Lisbon home Sept. 3 without permission, causing physical harm to the victim, stealing the victim’s wallet and slamming the victim’s thumb in the home’s door while fleeing.

A preliminary hearing was set Sept. 11 for Cody A. Hostetter, 22, North Pleasant Drive, East Palestine, charged with possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly being in possession of drugs during a warrant arrest in Salem Jan. 6.

A preliminary hearing was set Sept. 11 for Mirand Marie Little, 29, Youngstown, charged with receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony, and drug paraphernalia for allegedly having a firearm reported stolen in Trumbull County and burnt glass pipe during a traffic stop in which she was a passenger in St. Clair Township Sept. 2.

A preliminary hearing was set Sept. 14 for David G. Muntean, 42, Raley Road, New Waterford, charged with a protection order violation, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly entering the property of the victim and taking the victim’s without a court order in Elkrun Township Sept. 1, with two previous protection order violations.

A preliminary hearing was set Sept. 14 for Joseph Otto Altenburg, 36, West Main Street, East Palestine, charged with domestic violence, a third-degree felony, with bond set at $100,000 and an order to have no contact with the victim, for allegedly striking the victim in the face and dragging her by the hair in East Palestine July 9 with a previous domestic violence conviction.

A preliminary hearing was set Sept. 14 for Curtis C. Gearheart, 39, Pine Hollow Road, Lisbon, charged with intimidation, a third-degree felony, and misdemeanor counts of aggravated menacing, obstructing official business and open container for allegedly threatening physical harm to officers and family members of the officers during a traffic stop in Perry Township Sept. 5.

A preliminary hearing was set Sept. 25 for Solita Angshella Patton, 29, Echo Dell Road, East Liverpool, charged with drug abuse, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly having a clear container with methamphetamine inside in her pocket during a traffic stop Sept. 25.

A private hearing/decision to the bench was set Sept. 19 for Charlie LeRoy Piper, 43, Washington Street, Salineville, charged with fugitive from justice for a warrant out of West Virginia.

A pretrial was set Sept. 11 for Shannon Nicole Mecum, 34, Azalea Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with criminal mischief for allegedly flattening a tire on her boyfriend’s vehicle in Liverpool Township Sept. 1.

A pretrial was set Sept. 11 for Jenny Lynn Olmstead, 47, Lincoln Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with assault for allegedly causing physical harm to multiple nurses and two paramedics at the East Liverpool City Hospital Aug. 2.

A pretrial was set Sept. 14 for Brandon Robert Moore, 20, Annsley Road, East Liverpool, charged with obstructing official business for allegedly attempting to flee from officers during an arrest on a warrant in St. Clair Township Sept. 2.

A pretrial was set Sept. 14 for Joni Lynn McDole, 30, Maplewood Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with possession of drug abuse instruments for allegedly having a syringe in her waistband and suspected narcotics in her purse during a traffic stop in which she was a passenger in St. Clair Township Aug. 29.

A pretrial was set Sept. 25 for Michael Gatt, 54, Malibu Drive, East Palestine, charged with menacing, open container, threatening an officer with physical harm, OVI first offense, OVI breath .08 grams first offense, marked lanes, speed and traffic control devices following a traffic stop in East Palestine Sept. 1.

A pretrial was set Nov. 21 for Treyven Lee Michael Johnson, 23, Bradshaw Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with two counts of carrying a concealed weapon and illegal use/possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly having two firearms and multiple items of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop in which he was a passenger in Yellow Creek Township April 6.

A pretrial was set Nov. 28 for Nathan Robert Kersey, 20, Township Road 246, Toronto, charged with driving under suspension and assured clear distance ahead.

A pretrial was set Nov. 30 for Petra Lynn Montgomery, 26, Rose Drive, Lisbon, charged with open container in a motor vehicle, OVI first offense, no driver’s license and speed.

A pretrial was set Nov. 30 for Jordyn Nicole Price, 25, McKee Road, Wellsville, charged with two counts of carrying a concealed weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia for allgedly having two firearms and multiple items of drug paraphernalia with residue during a traffic stop in Liverpool Township Sept. 1. Price is also charged with illegalu use/possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly having a baggie containing possible methamphetamine, a digital scale with residue and rolled up dollar bills with residue during a traffic stop in Yellow Creek Township April 6.

A pretrial was set Dec. 4 for Matthew Edward Marshall, 23, Somer Street, Leetonia, charged with OVI, left of center, no driver’s license distracted driving and a seatbelt violation.

A pretrial was set Dec. 5 for Tucker R. Mills, 22, Shelburne Falls, Mass., charged with obstructing official business, failure to stop after an accident and failure to control for allegedly fleeing a crash scene on foot in Columbiana Aug. 27.

A pretrial was set Dec. 5 for Cheyenne Lamp, 28, St. Clair Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with three counts of failure to file city income tax returns in East Liverpool.

A pretrial was set Dec. 7 for Robert E. Miller III, 56, Cherry Valley Drive, Leetonia, charged with OVI first offense, no driver’s license, open container and a turn signal violation.

A pretrial was set Dec. 7 for Danny S. Donohue, 67, Maple Street, Lisbon, charged with disorderly conduct and open container for allegedly engaging in a physical altercation with another passenger during a traffic stop in Perry Township Sept. 5.

A pretrial was set Dec. 11 for John E. Hippley, 61, North Main Street, Columbiana, charged with theft and criminal mischief for allegedly removing and destroying survey stakes at a Columbiana property Aug. 19.

A pretrial was set Dec. 11 for Cody S. Kurtz, 29, West Garfield Road, Salem, charged with OVI first offense and OVI refusal with prior within 20 years.

A pretrial was set Dec. 11 for Curtis E. Jackson, 41, Washington Street, Lisbon, charged with drug paraphernalia. In a separate case, Jackson was fined $150 for loud exhaust and unsafe vehicle.

A pretrial was set Dec. 12 for Heather Stanley, 32, Bessemer, Pa., charged with OVI first offense and marked lanes.

A probation violation hearing was set Nov. 7 for Richard B. Pettinger, 55, Marlboro Avenue, Alliance.

A status conference hearing was set Dec. 5 for Eric L. Spooner, 50, Blueberry Drive, Columbiana, charged with domestic violence and resisting arrest for allegedly punching the victim in the face March 26 in Columbiana.

Damien Michael Paolino, 39, Avondale Street, East Liverpool, was fined $225 for driving under suspension and possession of marijuana.

Kaylee Nicole Jackson, 25, Densmore Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $30 for no driver’s license amended from driving under suspension.

Brian K. Miller, 44, West Sixth Street, Salem, was sentenced to 90 days in jail (89 suspended), fined $250, placed on one year probation and ordered to complete 20 hours community service and have no contact with the Calcutta Walmart for theft.

Helmut E. Purvis, 63, Samuel Street, East Liverpool, was fined $75 for no driver’s license.

Brian Scott Noble, 52, Pauls Lane, East Liverpool, was sentenced to 180 days in jail (suspended), fined $350, placed on two years probation and ordered to complete 60 hours community service, alcohol and substance abuse assessments and have no contact with Columbiana County Walmarts for theft.

Abigail V. Maslonek, 38, Corapolis, Pa., was fined $150 for speed, with a charge of right of way dismissed.

Donald W. Myler, 50, County Road 45, Toronto, was sentenced to 10 days in jauil for a probation violation of a possession of drug abuse instrument conviction.

Cheyenne Grace Garvis, 22, Maine Boulevard, East Liverpool, was fined $275 for driving under suspension, speed and child restraint.

David A. Augustine, 51, Liberty Street, Salem, was sentenced to 180 days in jail (179 suspended, one credited), fined $300, placed on two years probation and ordered to complete 50 hours community service and a general mental health assessment for theft.

Logan A. Kilpatrick, 20, Salem Alliance Road, Salem, was sentenced to 180 days in jail (179 suspended, one credited), fined $250, placed on two years probation and ordered to complete 40 hours community service as well as anger management, general mental health and alcohol and substance abuse assessments for assault amended from domestic violence.

Kelly Jo Ellyson, 42, Ellyson Road, East Rochester, was fined $50 for speed.

Ammie E. Murphy, 20, Miller Avenue, Alliance, was sentenced to 180 days in jail (179 suspended, one credited), fined $500, placed on two years probation and ordered to complete 40 hours community service, a general mental health assessment and have no contact with the victim for assault.

Chelsea Baker, 33, Steubenville Pike Road, Wellsville, was fined $500 total for driving under suspension, two counts of expired license, failure to control and speed in three separate cases.

Traci A. Murphy, 40, Clark Avenue, Wellsville, was sentenced to 180 days in jail (170 suspended), fined $645, had her license suspended for two years, placed on two years probation and ordered to complete 50 hours community service and an alcohol and substance abuse assessment for OVI, no driver’s license and failure to control.

Amanda J. Speigle, 33, East Perry Street, Salem, was sentenced to 30 days in jail (suspended), fined $150, placed on one year probation and ordered to complete 20 hours community service and a substance abuse assessment for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Joshua Clifford Board, 33, Independence Square, Wellsville, was fined $100 for no driver’s license amended from driving under suspension and $100 for driving under suspension, with a charge of left of center dismissed, for two separate cases.

Braeden D. Hambor, 21, Fairport Harbor, Ohio, was sentenced to 180 days in jail (150 suspended, two credited), fined $750, placed on five years probation and ordered to complete 100 hours community service, a general mental health assessment and impulse control counseling for engaging in prostitution amended from compelling and attempt amended from possession of criminal tools, with charges of attempt and importuning dismissed.
