Grand Jury

LISBON — A Youngstown man accused of selling and possessing methamphetamine was served Tuesday in Lancaster with a secret indictment issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury in 2022.

Richard Donald Cole McCurdy, 21, was charged with second-degree felonies of aggravated trafficking in drugs and aggravated possession of drugs, along with misdemeanor illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly preparing for sale and possessing methamphetamine in an amount equal or greater than five times the bulk amount but less that 50 times the bulk amount and possessing drug paraphernalia on July 27, 2022.

Also served with secret indictments were:

— Wade Lovett, 41, Glenn Street, East Liverpool, charged with possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing cocaine on Nov. 25, 2022.

— David Haught, 37, Florence Street, East Liverpool, charged with aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, with a specification for forfeiture of money from a drug case, for allegedly possessing $184 and methamphetamine on Feb. 24, 2021.

Municipal

LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary/pretrial hearing was set Aug. 31 for Tyler Quimby, Empire, charged with second-degree felony burglary and misdemeanor domestic violence for allegedly hitting a woman in the face and head twice and throwing her to the ground by her hair during a domestic on Aug. 24 in East Liverpool, leaving before police arrived, then coming back later and entering the residence through a front window.

A case against Nathan Minerd, 36, Youngstown, was bound over to the county grand jury for fourth-degree felony trafficking in drugs for allegedly attempting to sell drugs in East Palestine on Aug. 16. A pretrial was set Nov. 16 for a charge of driving under suspension. A case against Victoria Monge, 39, Spring Hill, Fla., was bound over to the county grand jury for possession of drugs, a fourth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing methamphetamine during a traffic stop on Aug. 16 in East Palestine after an alleged drug sale.

A pretrial was set Sept. 5 for Derek Craig, 50, Lotze Drive, East Palestine, charged with domestic violence for allegedly grabbing a woman by her hair, pushing her head against her vehicle, throwing her to the ground and hitting her in the back area during a domestic on July 29 in East Palestine.

Jocelyn Robinson, 24, West Line Street, Minerva, was fined $445 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 175 days suspended and credit for five days served, for domestic violence, disorderly conduct and speeding. She was ordered to complete 40 hours community service. Robinson was yelling obscenities and continued yelling and exhibiting erratic behavior after being told by deputies to stop, and became combative and took off on foot around the parking lot of Forest Lanes Bowling Alley on U.S. Route 30 while being placed on an ambulance cot on Aug. 12. She also allegedly threatened to assault a deputy and emergency personnel. The domestic charge stemmed from Robinson allegedly hitting a man in the face multiple times prior to deputies arriving in the parking lot.

A pretrial was set Sept. 7 for Shane Meade, 44, Ridge Street, Leetonia, charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct for allegedly refusing to leave a Lisbon Street residence in Leetonia on Aug. 22 and then going into a verbal profanity rage towards the victim which made the victim, feel threatened, along with a juvenile. When arrested, Meade refused to leave the police department to be transported to jail and had to be forced into the cruiser, calling officers multiple names.

A pretrial was set Sept. 5 for Wilbert Faulk, 64, Youngstown, charged with assault for allegedly assaulting a woman with his fist during a domestic on Aug. 20 on Sixth Street in East Liverpool. Bond was set at $15,000 cash or surety and he was ordered to have no contact with the victim.

A pretrial was set Nov. 21 for Curtis Michel, 33, Rootstown, charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging for sexual activity with a female in exchange for $150, driving to East Palestine on Aug. 22 for the meeting.

A pretrial was set Nov. 9 for Alex Conkle, 29, North Pleasant Drive, East Palestine, charged with falsification for allegedly claiming his cell phone was left in his vehicle which he reported stolen on March 25, but a deputy learned the vehicle had been involved in a pursuit in Columbiana the night before and he was the suspected driver. There was also evidence that he was using his phone after reporting the phone was in the stolen vehicle.

Steven McComas, 53, Grant Street, East Liverpool, was fined $300 and given a suspended 180-day jail term for theft. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service. McComas was charged for stealing $197 and six packs of cigarettes from Hide Away Bar and Drive Thru on March 16 in East Liverpool.

A pretrial was set Nov. 21 for Mohamed Nahsal, 22, East State Street, Salem, charged with trafficking in cigarettes without a license and failure to post tobacco license or comply with law for alleged violations discovered during an inspection by the Ohio Department of Taxation Criminal Investigative Division at One Stop Smoke and Vape LLC, East State Street, Salem on July 27.

Robert Hamilton, 67, Midland, Pa., was fined $875 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs first offense. His driver’s license was suspended for one year and he was ordered to complete 40 hours community service.

Jordan March, 35, Center Road, East Liverpool, was fined $625 and sentenced to 20 days in jail for OVI second offense and driving under suspension. His driver’s license was suspended for three years.

A pretrial was set Nov. 21 or Carrie Martin, 34, Industry, Pa., charged with OVI first offense, no seat belt, endangering children and a stop sign violation for allegedly operating a vehicle impaired with children in the vehicle on Aug. 19 in Unity Township.

A pretrial was set Sept. 5 for Kaylee Jackson, 25, Densmore Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with driving under suspension.

A pretrial was set Sept. 5 for Dustin Michael Andrews, 25, state Route 170, East Palestine, charged with drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop Aug. 23 in St. Clair Township.

A pretrial was set Nov. 16 for Marla Zema, 46, Main Street, Wellsville, charged with driving under suspension.

Anthony Orr, 20, Canfield, was fined $195 for speeding and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

Robert Westlake, 49, Anderson Boulevard, East Liverpool, was fined $250 for driving under suspension.

Charles Collins, 64, Jennings Avenue, Salem, was fined $150 for driving under suspension.

A pretrial was set Sept. 7 for Chad Smith, 51, Brookfield, charged with speeding.
