LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a case against Steven Weyand, 32, Madison Avenue, Salineville, was bound over to the county grand jury for felonious assault, a second-degree felony, and misdemeanor criminal damaging. Weyand is accused of allegedly assaulting another man with some type of object in his hand on July 4 in Salineville, injuring the victim who received medical attention at hospitals in Salem and Canton. He also hit the windshield of a woman’s car on July 1 in Salineville.
A case against George Feezle, 48, Enon Valley, Pa., was bound over to the county grand jury for a fourth-degree felony domestic violence charge for allegedly pushing a woman’s phone in an aggressive manor striking her in the face and threatening her during a domestic disturbance on May 22 in East Liverpool. He was fined $100 and sentenced to seven days in jail, with credit for seven days served, for drug paraphernalia for possessing drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop in St. Clair Township on July 9 while he was a passenger.
A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set July 27 for Wayne Allen Brock, Canton, charged with a third-degree felony compelling prostitution, a fourth-degree felony attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and fifth-degree felony possessing criminal tools and a misdemeanor engaging in prostitution. Brock allegedly responded to an ad on a known prostitution website of an adult female and a 15-year-old female, arranging to have sexual conduct with both females in exchange for $250 and arriving in East Palestine on July 17 for the meeting.
Two counts of domestic violence were dismissed against David Mauzy, 38, Youngstown, at the request of the prosecutor because the alleged victim failed to appear even though subpoenaed. Mauzy was accused of attempting to harm a woman on Oct. 22, 2022.
A pretrial was set July 31 for Don Featherstone Jr., 41, Monaca, Pa., charged with three counts of aggravated menacing and violating a temporary protection order. Featherstone was accused of allegedly making threats of physical harm to a man and threats of property damage to two other people via phone calls, text messages, social media and showing up at a business on July 17, 2022 in St. Clair Township. The alleged protection order violation stemmed from a Jan. 8 incident when a woman who had a protection order against Featherstone reported receiving several text messages from him, also in St. Clair Township.
A pretrial was set July 31 for Stephanie Shack, 56, East Ohio Avenue, Sebring, charged with menacing by stalking, aggravated menacing and criminal trespass for an incident July 15 on North Street, North Georgetown where Shack allegedly showed up at a woman’s residence after being told not to return, then was told by a deputy not to return and showed up again two hours later taunting the victim, parking across the street, calling her, coming up to the property line and driving to other locations to make contact with the victim. Shack also made threats against correction officers at the county jail when being processed into the jail.
Gregory Deniro, 32, Poland, was fined $750 and given a suspended 30-day jail term for disorderly conduct, amended from engaging in prostitution, and possessing criminal tools. He was permitted to buy out 40 hours community service, but was ordered to complete a 12-hour online prostitution prevention course. Deniro requested sexual conduct from an undercover agent in exchange for $100 and traveled to Salem on April 21 for the meeting.
Jeffrey Layman, 58, Hermitage, Pa., was fined $750 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and a 12-hour education course. On Jan. 31, Layman traveled to East Palestine for a sex-for-hire meeting after arranging for sexual conduct with two females who were advertised in an undercover ad on a known prostitution website in exchange for $180.
Kira Price, Vale Street, East Liverpool, was fined $400 and sentenced to 67 days in jail, with credit for 67 days served, for theft and escape for stealing a cell phone on April 4 in St. Clair Township, then fleeing on foot after being placed in the police cruiser. She was also fined $200 for driving under suspension and a turn signal violation.
Ashley Croley, 37, Youngstown, was ordered to serve 90 days in jail, with credit for 45 days served, after violating her probation for illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of theft. She had a glass pipe with a crystal-like substance inside, took candy from a gas station without paying for it from Smith Oil in Lisbon, and pretended to scan items cheaper than she bought, resulting in a theft of $123.13 in merchandise from Salem Walmart. The charges all stemmed from 2021.
Ryan Romigh, 29, Deerfield, was fined $100 and given a suspended 10-day jail term for two counts of obstructing official business for two separate incidents, one on June 3 in Salem when he fled from police on a bicycle from Speedway gas station when wanted on a warrant and on July 6 in East Palestine when he failed to follow commands from officers executing a search warrant at a residence.
A domestic violence charge was dismissed without prejudice against Michael Giles, 35, Grant Street, New Waterford. Giles had been accused of causing physical harm on July 25, 2022 in New Waterford to a woman by shoving her to the ground, striking her in the face, pinning her head down to the ground and gathering freshly mowed grass and debris and grinding it into her face before kicking her in the back.
A pretrial was set Oct. 12 for Curtis Gearhart, South Lincoln Avenue, Lisbon, charged with a turn signal violation and failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer for allegedly fleeing from Lisbon police attempting a traffic stop on July 17.
Danielle Bowers, 32, Morris Road, Lisbon, was ordered to jail for 20 days, with credit for six days already served, for two counts of possession of drugs after being dishonorably terminated from the drug court program. Bowers possessed buprenorphine on Sept. 9, 2021 and methamphetamine on April 3, 2021.
A pretrial was set Oct. 16 for Ryan Thompson, 41, last known address Jennings Avenue, Salem, charged with criminal trespass for being on a property in Salem on July 15 after he had already been trespassed from the property.
A pretrial was set Aug. 31 for Douglas English, 49, Forest Lawn, Columbiana, charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs second offense, OVI refusal second offense, driving under suspension and open container.
Nicole Cregger, 25, Hubbard, was fined $300 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 27 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program for reckless operation, amended from OVI, and speeding. Her driver’s license was suspended for 180 days and she was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.
Aaron Vanhorn, 20, Newgarden Avenue, Salem, was fined $300 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for physical control, amended from OVI. She was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. Charges of driving under suspension and transfer registration of vehicle were dismissed.
A pretrial was set Oct. 2 for Brandon Katta, 29, Girard, charged with OVI first offense, OVI breath first offense, driving under suspension and following too closely.
A pretrial was set Oct. 3 for Cierra Burke, 35, Youngstown, charged with driving under suspension.
James G. Dickey, 60, West Sixth Street, Salem, was fined $300 for a tail lights violation, amended from failure to control, and an equipment violation, amended from failure to stop after an accident.
A pretrial was set Oct. 3 for Jayvon Howell, 52, Hanna Drive, Hanoverton, charged with driving under suspension.
James Maxwell, 46, Bank Street, East Liverpool, was fined $150 for driving under suspension.
Mildred Exline, 66, North Lincoln Avenue, Salem, was fined $245 for littering from a vehicle and a tail light violation, amended from a stop sign violation. A charge of open container was dismissed.
A pretrial was set Oct. 16 for Randall Fegert, 26, West Liberty Street, Salem, charged with speeding.
