LISBON – In Columbiana County Common Pleas Court, Matthew R. Jennings, 43, Sharpsville, Pa., was sentenced to 10 months in prison for attempted compelling prostitution, a fourth-degree felony; 14 months in prison for attempted sexual conduct with a minor, a fourth-degree felony; and 60 days in jail for OVI, to be served concurrently, and designated a Tier II sex offender.

Jennings solicited sexual conduct with a Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force agent posing as an adult female and 15-year-old girl in exchange for $240, in addition to $35 extra for drinking with him first, arriving for the meeting Oct. 2 in East Palestine. Jennings allegedly told the agent he needed to be cautious in order to protect his nursing license, according to the affidavit.

Also in common pleas court:

– Alex L. Porter, 38, Albright Avenue, Columbiana, was sentenced to community control for three years, including six months at the Eastern Ohio Correctional Center, for obstructing official business, a fifth-degree felony; aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony; and possession of a fentanyl related compound, a fifth-degree felony. Porter gave police a false name while a passenger during a traffic stop March 30, 2022 in Columbiana and took off running after being told to exit the vehicle. He also possessed methamphetamine and fentanyl-related compound.

– Michael A. Faiola, 39, Youngstown, pled guilty to attempted complicity in the commission of an offense, a fourth-degree felony. Faiola was originally charged with illegal conveyance of drugs into a detention facility, a third-degree felony, for assisting someone send a drug of abuse into the Columbiana County Jail March 7, 2022. He faces up to 18 months in prison, a $5,000 fine and a driver’s license suspension of up to five years. Sentencing is set Sept. 22.

– Loren C. Webb, 44, Cleveland, pled guilty to two counts of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony; possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony; and possession of a fentanyl related compound, a fifth-degree felony, and was sentenced to 12 months in prison for each count, to be served concurrently with 23 days credited. Webb was found in possession of methamphetamine, cocaine and a fentanyl related compound July 24, 2021.

– William S. Davis, 34, North Market Street, Lisbon, was sentenced to three to four and half years in prison for felonious assault, a second-degree felony, for entering an occupied home and causing serious physical harm to a victim there, and six months in prison for assault, a fifth-degree felony, for causing or attempting to cause physical harm to an employee of a local correctional facility at which he was in custody Nov. 11, 2021. The sentences are to be served consecutively.

– Matthew R. Hormel, 40, East Martin Street, East Palestine, was sentenced to 150 days in jail, with credit for 114, for violating his probation for misdemeanor counts of domestic violence, endangering children and intimidation.

– Roxanna Corbisello, 68, Lincoln Avenue, Wellsville, was sentenced to 180 days in jail (suspended) and six month community control for a misdemeanor count of attempted aggravated possession of drugs. Corbisello was originally charged with permitting drug abuse, a fifth-degree felony, and a misdemeanor count of possession of drugs for allegedly allowing drug trafficking at a property she owns and being in possession of oxycodone and alprazolam March 2, 2022.

– Carol S. Shultz, 65, Canton, stipulated to terms and conditions of her treatment plan of probation for a November 2022 conviction for possession of cocaine and aggravated possession of drugs, both fifth-degree felonies, and illegal use of possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, and was sentenced to incarceration at the Eastern Ohio Correctional Center until the plan is completed.

– Dustin L. Farnsworth, 40, Cannons Mill Road, East Liverpool, was sentenced to 180 days in jail and six months of community control for attempted possession of drugs.

– Kirsten Burbick, 29, Riffle Road, New Waterford, was placed on a treatment plan for three years for breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony.

– Kerry Lynn Appel, 51, Fife Coal Road, Wellsville, was sentenced to three years of a treatment plan and a community control sanction, served concurrently, and had driver’s license suspended for one year for OVI.

– Bryan M. Doss, 43, Bell Avenue, Columbiana, was placed on a treatment plan for three years and had driver’s license suspended for one year for improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle and OVI.

Municipal

LISBON – In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a pretrial was set Sept. 12 for Dyllon James Pifer, 30, Warren, charged with obstructing official business for allegedly failing to tell officers about two firearms, on which was loaded, concealed in his vehicle during a traffic stop June 17 in St. Clair Township.

A pretrial was set June 29 for David S. VanHorn, 34, South Lincoln Avenue, Salem, charged with criminal trespassing for allegedly refusing to leave a Salem home June 22 after being told to do so by officers.

A pretrial was set June 29 for Timothy W. Adkins, 46, East Pine Street, Lisbon, charged with obstructing official business for allegedly fleeing officers on foot when they attempted to serve a warrant at his home June 21.

A pretrial was set July 10 for Brian Michael Niznik, 51, Struthers, charged with driving under suspension and speeding.

A pretrial was set July 25 for Randy Lee Newberry, 64, Morris Road, Lisbon, charged with driving under suspension and a taillights violation.

A pretrial was set Sept. 5 for Cheyenne Lamp, 27, Michigan Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with three counts of failure to file East Liverpool city income tax return for 2021, 2022 and 2023.

A pretrial was set Sept. 12 for Tod J. Green, 60, Lippincot Road, East Rochester, charged with two counts of failure to file sales tax return in 2023.

A pretrial was set Sept. 18 for Kenneth W. Hull, 40, Southeast Boulevard, Salem, charged with failure to stop after an accident, driving under suspension and assured clear distance ahead.

A pretrial was set Sept. 19 for Melissa A. Stovall, 50, Orchard Grove Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with two counts of failure to file East Liverpool city income tax return for 2022 and 2023.

A pretrial was set Sept. 19 for Ryan C. Stovall, 48, Orchard Grove Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with two counts of failure to file East Liverpool city income tax return for 2022 and 2023.

A sentencing hearing was set July 13 for Kevin Clark, 57, West Martin Street, East Palestine, charged with driving under suspension and marked lanes.

Donald Klink, 43, Beaver Falls, Pa., was sentenced to 183 days in jail (163 suspended, two credited), fined $1,175, had his driver’s license suspended for one year, placed on two years probation and ordered to complete 40 hours community service and substance abuse evaluation for OVI, driving under suspension and left of center.

James Richard Howell Jr., 57, Ohio Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $150 for driving under suspension.

James Crago, 58, Butcher Road, Leetonia, was fined $50 for animals at large.

Ashleigh J. Warmouth, 20, Austintown, was fined $50 for driving under suspension.

Andrew D. Contais, 41, Town Square Boulevard, Columbiana, was fined $45 for speeding.

Patrick J. Wherry, 24, Saltwell Road, Lisbon, was fined $35 for speeding.
