Grand Jury

LISBON — William Beeson, 24, state Route 9, Salem, was served Wednesday with a secret indictment recently issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury for possession of a deadly weapon while under detention, a fifth-degree felony.

The indictment said that while under detention at a detention facility, Beeson allegedly possessed a deadly weapon described as a piece of bent metal with sharp corners and a handle on Sept. 20, 2022. The detention facility was identified by the sheriff’s office as the county jail.

Municipal

LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary/pretrial hearing was set March 30 for Robert Barrett, 23, charged with misdemeanor domestic violence and felonious assault, a second-degree felony. Barrett allegedly assaulted a female, who had to be treated at Salem Regional Medical Center, on March 6 by punching her in the head, neck, shoulders and spine and requiring the female to receive staples in her head. A no contact order was also issued. His bond was set at $75,000 cash or surety.

A pretrial/preliminary hearing was set for March 30 for Randy Newberry, 64, Morris Road, Lisbon charged with fifth-degree felony illegal use of a minor in nudity material or performance, and misdemeanors of engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. Newberry allegedly traveled to East Palestine after contacting an undercover agent on Facebook and agreeing to exchange methamphetamine for sexual activity on March 20. Following his arrest, two images of a nude minor were allegedly discovered on his cell phone. Newberry was ordered to have no contact with minors.

Weston Meek, 53, Fredericktown Clarkson Road, Negley, was fined $250 and sentenced to 180 days in jail with 178 suspended and credit for two days served and 25 hours of community service for aggravated menacing and animals at large. A charge of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. Meek was witnessed firing a firearm at a vehicle he knew to be driven by a female on Jan. 7. Meek was also ordered to have no contact with the victim.

Gary Casey, 47, Warren, was fined $500 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, all suspended, and 25 hours of community service for engaging in prostitution. A charge of possessing criminal tools was dismissed. Casey responded to an online ad and agreed to exchange $100 for sexual activity and responded to the location provided by the undercover officer on Jan. 6, 2022.

Phillip Black, 69, McCracken Road, was fined $150 for unsafe vehicle.

Danielle Molish, 36, of Gardendale Street, East Liverpool, was fined $250 for assault, and 180 days in jail with all but one suspended and credit for one day served and 40 hours of community service. Molish struck a man in the face with her cell phone.

Khalide Moore, 24, Gardendale Street, East Liverpool, was sentenced t0 180 days in jail with 176 suspended and four days served and fined $250 and 40 hour of community service for assault. Moore struck a female in the face on Jan. 9. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim.

Melissa Geer, 44, Waterloo Street, East Liverpool, was fined $250 and sentenced to a 30-day suspended sentence and 40 hours of community service for drug paraphernalia for possession of a glass pipe, small plastic tube with a crystal brown substance in it and a baggy with the same substance in it on Jan. 24.

Asia Williams, 35, East Liverpool Road, East Liverpool, was fined $500, given a suspended sentence of 180 days and sentenced to 20 hours of community service for physical control of a vehicle while under the influence.

Patrick O’Neil, 40, McKees Rocks, was sentenced to 90 days suspended, 20 hours of community service and fined $200 for theft. O’Neil failed to pay for $51 worth of merchandise at the Calcutta Walmart on Oct. 22.

Thomas Green, 65, Youngstown, was fined $150 for driving under suspension and expired registration.

Emily Ferris, 23, McClure Road, East Palestine was fined $150 for unsafe vehicle.

Alvin Pugh, 43, Fifth Street, East Liverpool, was released from custody as a fugitive from justice after West Virginia declined to extradite Pugh on an outstanding warrant.

A pretrial was set April 3 for Ariann Russell, 21, High Street, Leetonia charged with child endangerment. Russell allegedly threw a car seat to the ground with a 1-year-old child in it to fight another woman on March 21.

A pretrial was set for March 30 for Terrance Louive, 20, Canton, charged with assault. Louive allegedly punched another inmate in the face while he was jailed in the county jail on March 30.

A pretrial has been set for March 30 for Richard Stoddard, 53, Grove Alley, East Liverpool charged with assault. Stoddard allegedly punched another inmate in the face while he was jailed in the county jail on March 30.

A pretrial was set for March 30 for Josiah Laughlin, 23, Campbell Road, Hanoverton charged with assault. Laughlin allegedly punched another inmate multiple times while he was jailed in the county jail on March 20.

A pretrial was set for March 30 for Cody Cox, 31, Newell, .Va., charged with assault. Cox allegedly punched and kicked another inmate multiple times while he was jailed in the county jail on March 20.

A pretrial was set April 3 for Hunter Congrove, 20, state Route 25, Lisbon, charged with two counts of aggravated menacing. Congrove allegedly pointed a firearm at a female on Aug. 8.

A pretrial was set for May 1 for Lee Givens, 31, E. Taggart Street, East Palestine charged with possession of drugs and driving under suspension.

A preliminary hearing was set March 30 for William Barnes, 31, Avondale Street, East Liverpool, charge with failure to verify address and failure to verify address change as a Tier II sex offender, both fourth-degree felonies.

A pretrial was set for April 6 for Travis Miller, 24, Hammondsville, charged with driving under suspension, use of unauthorized plate, improper/expired registration, speed, left of center, failure to control, reckless operation and possession of marijuana.

A pretrial was set April 3 for Jasprett Singh, 21, Ontario, charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. Singh allegedly traveled to East Palestine on March 22 after answering an online ad and agreeing to exchange $70 for sexual activity while communicating with an undercover agent.

A pretrial was set April 6 for David Cole, 40, East Eighth Street, East Liverpool charged with violation of a protection order. Cole allegedly contacted the victim multiple times by phone from the Ashland County Jail between Jan. 12 and Feb. 23.

A pretrial was set April 3 for Devin Earich, 28, High Street, Leetonia, charged with assault. Earich allegedly slammed a female to the ground during a child’s birthday party on March 21.

A pretrial was set April 3 for Randall Culler, 43, Bell Road, Lisbon charged with two counts of violation of a protection order. Culler allegedly came to the work location of a female who has a protection order against him on Dec. 8.

A pretrial was set for June 1 for Shaun Delauder, 42, of Clark Avenue, Wellsville charged with no driver’s license and unauthorized use of plates.

A pretrial was set for June 5 for Mallory Stowers, 30, W. 6th Street, East Liverpool, charged with driving under suspension and improper/expired registration.

A pretrial was set for April 4 for Jeffrey Cox. 40, S. Lundy Avenue, Salem charged with tail lights, no seat belt, possession of marijuana and operating a motor vehicle without a valid license.

A pretrial was set for April 3 for Christopher Wood, 29, Toronto, charged with domestic violence for allegedly flipping a woman over his shoulder and onto her back, causing injuries on March 21.
