LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a case against James Argentine, 49, Farr Street, Rogers, was bound over to the county grand jury for felonious assault, a second-degree felony, for a shooting Feb. 11 in Rogers.
An affidavit said an argument took place between Argentine and the victim, Peter Fiest Jr., as Argentine was driving alongside him near the intersection of Farr Street and Church Street and then allegedly shot the victim, causing serious physical harm that required surgery.
A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set March 6 for Nikki Koffel, 33, West Fourth Street, East Liverpool, charged with third-degree felony tampering with evidence, two counts of fifth-degree felony assault, fifth-degree felony obstructing official business and three counts of misdemeanor assault. One of the misdemeanor assault charges stemmed from Koffel allegedly assaulting another woman on Feb. 18 at the Harker Cafe in East Liverpool. The other charges all stem from incidents on Feb. 25 when she allegedly assaulted a nurse at East Liverpool City Hospital by biting her and kicking her while being treated for a possible overdose that occurred while she was being transported to jail. Koffel had been at the hospital earlier and taken into custody on a warrant. Once she was returned to the county jail, Koffel allegedly shoved a baggie in her mouth and refused to spit it out. When a correctional officer tried to remove the bag, she allegedly kicked the officer in the chest and bit the officer when the officer attempted to pry her mouth open. The tampering charge stemmed from Koffel attempting to swallow the alleged drugs she had placed in her mouth.
A preliminary hearing was set March 30 for Aaron Yonker, 26, Ravenna, charged with third-degree felony compelling prostitution, fourth-degree felony attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and fifth-degree felony possessing criminal tools for allegedly requesting sexual conduct with a 15-year-old girl after making arrangements with an undercover agent posing as an adult prostitute offering her friend in exchange for $60 and an iced coffee. He drove to Salem for the meeting on Feb. 24.
A preliminary hearing was set March 6 for Charles Slocum Jr., 31, North Jefferson Street, Lisbon, charged with domestic violence, a third-degree felony, for allegedly shoving a woman to the floor and causing a cut on her hand during a domestic altercation on Feb. 26 in Lisbon. The charge was elevated to a felony due to two prior domestic violence convictions.
A pretrial was set May 11 for George Watters, 48, Austintown, charged with engaging in prostitution, possessing criminal tools and drug paraphernalia for allegedly arranging to have sexual activity with an undercover agent posing as two adult females in exchange for money and traveling to East Palestine on Feb. 24 for the meeting, with his phone and a meth pipe.
Graig Whitey-Allen Hair, 55, Barberton, was fined $750 and given a suspended 90- day jail term for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for soliciting sexual activity with an undercover agent posing as an adult female in exchange for $60 and arriving in East Palestine on May 18, 2022 for the meeting.
A pretrial was set March 9 for Joseph Summers, 42, Erie, Pa., charged wit engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly soliciting sexual conduct from an undercover agent posing as two adult women in exchange for $160 and cocaine and traveling to East Palestine on Feb. 26 for the meeting.
A pretrial was set March 9 for Brianne Flaherty, 28, Birch Road, East Liverpool, charged with possession of drug abuse instrument and drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing a syringe and a glass pipe used to smoke crack cocaine during a traffic stop Feb. 25 in St. Clair Township.
Deanna Moschella, 43, Youngstown, was fined $200 and sentenced to 10 days in jail, with credit for three days served, for theft for stealing a pair of boots and perfume from Salem Walmart on Feb. 24.
A pretrial was set May 8 for Victoria Burtyk, 31, state Route 170, East Palestine, charged with disorderly conduct for her alleged behavior during a Lisbon High School sporting event on Jan. 28.
A pretrial was set May 8 for John Castelucci, 43, East Third Street, Salem, charged with theft and obstructing official business for allegedly stealing a container of ice cream valued at $5.50 from Family Dollar in Salem on Feb. 26 and allegedly lying to police about paying for the item.
A pretrial was set May 8 for Elijah Manley, 21, North Shady Lane, East Liverpool, charged with public indecency-exposing private parts for allegedly being seen defecating in a yard on North Surry Road, East Liverpool on Feb. 21.
