Grand Jury

LISBON — A pharmacist who had been employed at the Rite Aid Pharmacy in Salem was served Thursday with a secret indictment for drug charges.

Robert Herberger, 33, Canfield, was charged with four counts of theft of drugs, a fourth-degree felony for allegedly stealing oxycodone and acetaminophen from Rite Aid Pharmacy 2357 on June 23, 2022, July 1, 2022, July 15, 2022, and July 16, 2022.

Also served with a secret indictment was Joey Jenkins, 55, Somerdale, aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing methamphetamine on July 15, 2022.

Court News

LISBON — An East Liverpool man accused of assaulting a man and pinning him down in a chair pleaded guilty recently to domestic violence and resisting arrest.

Matthew Ward, 34, Michigan Avenue, entered the pleas to the third-degree felony domestic violence charge and misdemeanor resisting charge in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court. Sentencing was set for May 8.

The incident occurred Nov. 29, 2022 in East Liverpool and caused injury to the victim.

Also in Common Pleas Court:

— Sarah Drye, 35, Kelly Park Road, Columbiana, pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony, and aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, with sentencing set March 10. The tampering charge stems from April 3, 2021 and the drug charge stems from her possession of methamphetamine on Feb 3, 2022.

Municipal

LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a pretrial was set April 17 for Barbara Stonestreet, 31, West Third Street, Salem, charged with endangering children for allegedly being intoxicated and having a loaded gun in her hoodie pocket while around two children, ages 2 years old and 1 month old on Jan. 28 in Salem.

A pretrial was set March 6 for Russell Kukuk, 34, South Union Avenue, Salem, charged with domestic violence for allegedly putting a woman in a headlock after an argument on Feb. 22 in Salem.

Grace Felger, 24, St. Jacobs Logtown Road, Lisbon, was fined $250 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served, for theft. She was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and stay out of Salem Walmart. While she was an employee of the store, video surveillance on Dec. 7, 2022 showed her taking items without scanning them at a register at least seven times for a total of $38.

A pretrial was set May 9 for Miles Reynolds, 59, Bank Street, East Liverpool, charged with theft for allegedly taking a table from outside an Oak Street, East Liverpool residence on Feb. 6.

A pretrial was set May 16 for Kelsey Kornack, 32, Pine Street, Leetonia, charged with theft for allegedly failing to scan $125 worth of items at Salem Walmart on Feb. 8, claiming her child was acting up and she did not intend to steal the items.

Gage Logston, 19, Newell, W.Va., was fined $290 and given a suspended 30-day jail term for disorderly conduct, amended from carrying a concealed weapon, and speeding. He was ordered to complete 10 hours community service. Logston had a loaded firearm in his vehicle during a traffic stop on Jan. 15 in St. Clair Township.

James Howell, 57, Ohio Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $250 for discharging a firearm for shooting a gun behind his home by the river bank in East Liverpool on Feb. 23, which isn’t permitted in the city.

Todd Small, 36, Y & O Road, East Liverpool, was fined $1,350 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 170 days suspended, leaving 10 days to serve, for improper handling firearms in a motor vehicle, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs second offense, amended from OVI third offense, and assured clear distance. His driver’s license was suspended for two years, with driving privileges granted, and he was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. The charges stemmed from a traffic crash on Sept. 4, 2022 at East Liverpool Road and state Route 170 in St. Clair Township when Small had a gun with a loaded magazine in the vehicle.

A pretrial was set May 11 for Aaron Flatinger, 48, Center Road, Homeworth, charged with OVI first offense, no seat belt and speeding.

A pretrial was set March 6 for Donald Nesselrode, 56, Blakely Street, East Liverpool, charged with possession of drug abuse instrument and drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing several syringes and a glass pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine during a traffic stop on Feb. 23 in St. Clair Township.

A pretrial was set May 8 for Shannon Cunning, 46, Youngstown, charged with driving under suspension, possession of drug abuse instrument and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing a hypodermic needle and a broken glass pipe used for methamphetemine during a traffic stop Feb. 23 in Columbiana.

A pretrial was set May 9 for Grover Willhoft, 29, Albright Avenue, Columbiana, charged with illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing drug paraphernalia in his home during a search of his home for narcotics on Feb. 23.

A pretrial was set March 13 for Kelly Hooper, 46, May Street, East Liverpool, charged with possession of drug abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing a glass pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine and several used syringes on Feb. 23 in St. Clair Township.

A pretrial was set May 11 for Matthew Soldo, 42, Alliance, charged with possession of drug abuse instruments for allegedly possessing a hypodermic needle during a traffic stop in Columbiana on Feb. 23.

A pretrial was set May 16 for Catherine S. Davidson, 82, West State Street, Salem, charged with animals running at large for allegedly allowing livestock animals to run loose Jan. 30 after being warned numerous times the past two years.

A pretrial was set March 6 for Brandon Hoschar, 27, Youngstown, charged with two counts possession of drug abuse instruments, driving under suspension and loud exhaust. Hoschar allegedly possessed hypodermic needles during traffic stops in Columbiana on Feb. 23 and on June 3, 2022 in St. Clair Township.

A pretrial was set May 11 for Kara Della Penna, 39, Bellaire, charged with license plate light and two counts driving under suspension.

David Sisco Jr., 32, Sixth Street, Wellsville, was fined $200 for expired license and speeding.

A pretrial was set May 8 for Nichelle Williams, 32, Orchard Street, East Liverpool, charged with driving under suspension and stop sign-school bus.

Hollis Tataseo, 68, Colony Drive, New Waterford, was fined $150 for speeding in a school zone.

A pretrial was set May 18 for Martin Barckhhoff, 39, Joy Lane, East Liverpool, charged with speeding.

A pretrial was set May 11 for Richard Schultz, 43, Aurora, charged with speeding.
