LISBON -- In County Municipal Court, a Jan. 16 preliminary hearing was set for John P. Elia, 57, West Bloomfield, Mich., charged with possession of drugs and trafficking in drugs. During a traffic stop by the Highway Patrol on state Route 11, a patrol K-9 alerted to drugs and a large black bag containing multiple clear plastic bags of a green leafy substance was located in the vehicle.
Logan M. Snay, Second Street, Hanoverton, was sentenced to 42 in jail, fined $2,125, had his license suspended for a year, required to attend a three-day counseling program and ordered 100 hours of community service for OVI first offense, failure to stop, hit/skip, two counts of driving under suspension, two counts of failure to control, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Additionally, Snay was ordered to pay $500 in restitution to Pamela Snay, the owner of the stolen vehicle.
A Feb. 3 pretrial was set for Robert. J. Lutman, 43, Chestnut Street, Leetonia, charged with OVI second offense and a tail lights violation.
Ann E. Sevenich, 60, Metz Road, Columbiana, was fined $350, had her license suspended for a year, required to attend a three-day counseling program and ordered 30 hours community service for a traffic control device violation, expired registration and reckless operation amended from OVI first offense.
Michael F. Hipsley, 26, Monroeville Heights, Salineville, was fined $300 and required 40 hours community service for obstructing official business and disorderly conduct for becoming belligerent, trying to fight everyone and grabbing a woman's arm at the Tangerine Lounge on Sept. 7, then hiding outside along a fence line before fleeing.
Norman W. Schreffler, 20, Cream Ridge Road, Lisbon, was fined $450 and had his license suspended for 180 days for street racing, reckless operation and speeding on the bypass near Salem on Oct. 15.
Jacob Paul Furry, 22, Hiner Avenue, Alliance, was sentenced to three days in jail, fined $600, required 40 hours community service and had his license suspended for 180 days for failure to comply, street racing, speeding and reckless operation, for street racing against Schreffler on the bypass on Oct. 15 and not stopping for police.
An assault charge against Jasin B. Gamble, 42, Hammond School Road, Wellsville, was dismissed due to the victim refusing to appear or cooperate with the prosecutor's office. Gamble had been accused of assaulting Shannon Johnson on May 22.
A Dec. 23 sentencing hearing was set for Zachary J. McFarland, 21, West Main Street, Washingtonville, who pleaded guilty to domestic violence for hitting Ashley Sekely in the head and pushing here against the wall on Monday. McFarland was fined $150 and had his license suspended for 180 days for marijuana and jaywalking.
Codee Jacob Thomas VanPelt, 26, Lisbon Road, Salem, was fined $450 for expired license and driving under suspension
A Feb. 10 pretrial was set for Reginald D. Ellis, 29, Ohio Avenue, Salem, cited with driving under suspension.
A Feb. 10 pretrial was set for Patrick A. Williams, 59, Market Street, East Liverpool, cited with driving under FRA suspension and failure to display a valid sticker.
A Feb. 18 pretrial was set for Shawn Douglas Tremain, 28, Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, cited with driving under FRA suspension and speeding.
A Feb. 11 pretrial was set for Dustin R. Wright, 22, Berry Road, Kensington, cited with possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
A driving under suspension citation against Sherilda Ramos, 20, Akron, was dismissed.
