HOOKSTOWN, Pa. — Lee & Christy Mott of Hookstown, Pa., announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Mariah, to Matthew Blaney, son of Elizabeth Blaney of Morgantown, W.Va..

The bride to be is the granddaughter of Gloria Lombardozzi of Chester, W.Va., and Arlene Smith of Martins Ferry, Ohio.

Mariah is a 2014 graduate of Weirton Madonna High School and a 2017 graduate of WVU with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. She is currently in her fourth and final year of medical school at WVU and will begin her residency training next summer.

The groom is a 2014 graduate of Sherando High School in Stephens City, Va. and a 2017 graduate of WVU with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He is in his third year of medical school at WVU.

The couple is planning a December wedding in Morgantown, W.Va.
