100th Birthday Celebration

Elaine Yoder, formerly of North Lima, is celebrating her 100th Birthday on Sept. 10.

Elaine was born in Waterloo, Ontario and had five sisters and one brother. She took her nursing training at KW Hospital in Kitchener ON, and served as a Medical Relief Worker in India and Sumatra from 1946 to 1948. While working there she met William Yoder of North Lima and they eventually married in 1950. She worked as a nurse in Salem and Southside Hospitals and Assumption Nursing Home, as well as volunteering in the North Lima schools.

Elaine’s husband, William Yoder, was a graduate of North Lima High School and later served many years as Beaver Township Clerk and Treasurer while working in banking and insurance. Bill and Elaine had one daughter, Patricia, and two sons, Tom and Tim.

Mrs. Yoder attributes her longevity to good genes, loving friends and family, regular attendance at North Lima Mennonite Church, and staying active. She lives now in Columbiana.

Starting at $2.99/week.
