WELLSVILLE -- Bonny Mary Beresford, of Wellsville, celebrated her 90th birthday Sept. 16 at Simply Sweet Cakes surrounded by family and friends. She was born Sept. 21, 1928 to Erla Betts.
She was a graduate of Mount De Chantel Academy in Wheeling, attended Ohio University and graduated from Ohio Valley Business College in East Liverpool.
In 1954, she married Robert "Brassy" Beresford.
She previously worked for Wellsville China and Central Federal Savings Loan in Wellsville until she became a stay at home mother. She has also volunteered for many years at the Friends of the Ascension Church, Friends of the Old Fire Station, Wellsville Historical Society River Museum, Wellsville Crime Watch, Museum of Ohio Rivers, and the Arts Club of Wellsville. In 2017, the River Museum dedicated a room to her and her husband for their many years of service.
The couple has four children, Ann (Willie) Brantingham, of Winona; Kevin (JoAnn) Beresford, of East Liverpool; Amie (Terry) Hartman, of Carrollton; and Betts (Lora) Beresford, of New Albany; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
