Vernon and Cindy Burch will be celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary on March 1, 2025. The loving couple was wed on the coldest day of the year during a snow storm in 1980. The bride’s parents, Lloyd and Betty (Driscoll) Bailey, gave their daughter in marriage to Vernon, the son of Doyle and Jackie (Garland) Burch, at the Hanoverton Church of Christ.

Vernon and Cindy worked the family farm while also working for Babcock and Wilcox and Simmons Feed & Supply. While Cindy earned a degree from Kent Salem, they also raised their three children. They continue to work at Treemen Industries and Whiteleather Grain.

They remain very active in the work of the Lord at Hanoverton Church of Christ where Vernon is serving as an elder, and they both are Bible class teachers. They enjoyed supporting their children and now their grandchildren in years of 4-H, band, sports, and many other extra-curricular activities.

Even through adversity and setbacks Vernon and Cindy have displayed their love and loyalty to each other. No matter what life threw at them, including hospital stays, vehicle accidents, and plunging milk prices, they remained steadfast and unwavering in their devotion to each other, family, and the Lord.

Their family has expanded to include the households of Andy and Danielle Burch (Doyle and Rose), Jake and Angela Marshall (Ruby, Eva and Hadley), all of Salem, and Weston and Dr. Abby Schreiber (Olive and Emory) of Maryland.

Instead of a party, their children elected to send them on a Hawaiian cruise.
