50th Wedding Anniversary

Charles and Carol (Fronius) Straub recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple were united Aug. 5 1972 at Saint Paul Catholic Church in Salem. Father Richard Ross officiated the ceremony on a beautiful summer day.

Carol was a first-grade teacher in the Salem School System for 19 years and continued her career as a curriculum consultant with the Columbiana County Educational Service Center. She was also an adjunct professor in the Early Childhood Education Department at Kent State Salem. She retired in 2019.

Chuck began his insurance career on July 5, 1972 with Prudential and opened his own agency in 1995. He continues to be active in the insurance industry.

The Straubs are parents of son Charlie (Amy) and grandchildren Hannah and Evan of Maplewood, New Jersey. Son Kyle Straub passed away in 1990.

Carol and Chuck enjoyed their anniversary with family at the Newport Jazz Festival on July 31 and with friends at an Atlantic Ocean view dinner in Kennebunkport, Maine on Aug. 5.

The Straubs marriage has been inspired by the song “How Do You Keep The Music Playing” and continue to be blessed for each day together.
