Golden year for Homeworth couple
HOMEWORTH — Robert and Mary Lou Williams of Homeworth recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at Hart Mansion in Minerva with their children and grandchildren.
The couple were married March 27, 1971 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Alliance by the Rev. Herbert S. Garnes.
Mrs. Williams was the former Mary Lou Weick, daughter of the late Herman and Helen Weick. Mr. Williams is the son of the late Gene and Carolyn Williams. They have three children, Michele (Kevin) Hoopes of Beloit, Ryan Williams of Ashland, and Traci (Pete) Raga of Salem. They also have six grandchildren, Marcus, Kyle and Owen Hoopes and Cecilia, Myla and Jackson Raga.
Mr. Williams retired from American Steel Foundries as a Millwright, and from Broadway Iron and Metal. He also had his own sandblasting and painting business for 40 years.
Mrs. Williams retired from AVI Food Systems after 23 years, her account being at Aultman Alliance Community Hospital, where she also volunteers.
They are active members of St. Paul’s Church and enjoy being with family and friends, going to antique shops and traveling to Myrtle Beach S.C. each year.
