Kensington couple celebrating 65th year

Ada and Don Butterworth

KENSINGTON — Don and Ada (Greathouse) Butterworth of Kensington celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Thursday. The high school sweethearts were united in marriage on September 10, 1955 at the First United Presbyterian Church of Minerva by the Rev. Milton Davis.

Don is the son of the late Chris and Dorothy (Bates) Butterworth of Minerva. Ada is the daughter of Bode and Gertrude (Archer) Greathouse. Don retired from James Rivers Company, formerly Minerva Wax Paper, in Minerva. A homemaker, Ada also worked at Worthington Plastics in Salem. They are members of the First Presbyterian Church in Minerva.

They have three children, Steve (Debbie) Butterworth, Launa (Jeff) Truxall and Holly Mikes, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
