Lisbon couple marks 70th year
LISBON — Kenneth and Margaret Williams, 739 Sunset Drive. are celebrating their 70th year together.
On May 21, 1950 at the First Presbyterian Church in Lisbon, the former Margaret Barton, daughter of Brice and Katherine Barton, married Kenneth Williams, son of Victor and Virginia Williams.
In 1987, Mr. Williams retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He served as postmaster in Lisbon from 1970 until his retirement.
Mrs. Williams worked as an office assistant for Buckeye Coal Mining Company, then worked for the Columbiana County Office on Aging.
Mr. and Mrs. Williams are members of the Presbyterian Church.
They raised four children: Judy Griffith of Suwanee, Ga.; Tom (Janet) Williams of Canfield, Rick (Chris) Williams of Hidden Valley, Pa.; and Gerald (Krista) Williams of Norton. They have eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Because of social distancing, the couple will celebrate at home, with a family celebration to be planned at a later date.
