Golden year for Salem couple

SALEM – Wayne and Judi Allio, Salem, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 4 at a private dinner party at the Springfield Grille, Boardman.

The former Judi Pelliccioni married Wayne Allio on June 4, 1966 at the Real Life Church with Rev. William T. Dick officiating.

Mrs. Allio, daughter of the late Merle and Stella (Berardi) Pelliccioni of Ellsworth, worked as a legal secretary, librarian and long-time Clerk of Council for the City of Salem. She is a trustee and past vice-president of the Salem Historical Society, where she has chaired Salem’s annual Founders’ Day Celebrations for many years; former secretary and president of Salem Community Theatre’s Board of Trustees and produced numerous shows over a 30-year period and was named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International.

Mr. Allio, son of the late Howard and Helen Allio of Pennsylvania, is a four-year United States Navy veteran, having served on a submarine rescue ship. He is a former broadcast engineer and was Chief Engineer for radio stations WSOM and WQXK, Salem-Youngstown; WTOF, Canton; and WHLO, Akron. He enjoys reading, NASCAR, the Steelers and Buckeyes.

They have one daughter, Cristina (Louis) Huffman of Columbiana.
