Keep it clean

Editor: Can’t we Americans think a little harder about not polluting the edge of our highways with all our fast food wrappers and drink containers? Every spring our highways look like war zones out of the Middle East. This is America, with a supposedly well-educated and intelligent population and clean environment. So come on, Americans, think about what you are doing as you roll down your car window and let the debris fly away. Harry John Herbert East Palestine

Editor: April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. This year’s theme, “Engaging New Voices,” builds on the idea that we are stronger together, and that new partners and community members are needed to expand sexual assault prevention efforts. Editor: Teenagers of today are constantly getting a bad reputation. Too often the good they do goes unnoticed. But, there is hope for today’s youth! These kids showed they respect the land God has ...

As personal insults are hurled like Democrats, the Democrats are probably sitting back and laughing their heads off. It is one thing to question someone’s political views, it’s another to attack them personally for the shoes they wear like a school bully, as John ...

Uncivil matters

Editor: Does anyone know the answer as to who should enforce a letter to the neighbor in which the lawyer wrote to them? The neighbor put posts beside my right of way, decreasing the width from 12 feet to 9 feet. I called the sheriff’s department and they said it was a civil matter, get a lawyer. So now the lawyer has written them a letter stating if he persists in interfering with my right of way, we have no choice but to file action of injunctive relief and private nuisance. But if the sheriff’s department or prosecutor does nothing concerning the letter, why should I pay ...
