Bulldogs celebrate the first Noel

YOUNGSTOWN — East Palestine pitcher Blake Noel was in midseason form in his first start of the season Friday.

Noel scattered three hits with 13 stikeouts and two walk in a complete-game victory.

Cale Moraski had three hits and Kaelin Simon two hits and an RBI to lead the Bulldogs offense.

East Palestine (3-2) will play Youngstown Chaney in a doubleheader at Cene Park at noon Saturday.

Southern 10, Chaney 9

SALINEVILLE — Mason Pitts drove in Zac Mayfield on a fielder’s choice in the bottom of the seventh to lift Southern to a 10-9 win over Youngstown Chaney on Friday.

Southern led 5-0 through three innings before Chaney mounted a comeback.

Preston Pitts had a double and two RBIs for the Indians. Brody Brown had a single and triple with an RBI. Braden Rhodes had three hits, while Jaylen Pitts had a triple.

Rhodes was the winning pitcher with two strikeouts in 2/3 of a inning.

Southern is 1-6 and hosts Leetonia on Monday.

Columbiana 11, Leetonia 0

LEETONIA — Avery Young had three hits out as the leadoff hitter as Columbiana crushed Leetonia 11-0 in six innings on Friday.

Max Conway had two hits including a double for the Clippers.

Reese Roush had a hit and two RBIs. D Goehring had two hits.

Sam Inboden was the winning pitcher with seven strikeouts and two walks in six innings.

Joe McGath was the losing pitcher with six walks and three strikeouts in three innings.

Columbiana (5-3) is at Girard today.

Marlington 6, United 0

ALLIANCE –Marlington used three different pitchers to shut out United 6-0 on Friday.

The Eagles scattered four hits. Nick Lutes took the loss with two strikeouts and two walks in six innings.

United is 5-4 and will host Heartland in a doubleheader on Saturday.

Poland 15, Salem 5

POLAND — A seven-run fourth inning pushed Poland past Salem 15-5 on Friday.

Braydon Van Dyne and Derek Oesch had two hits each for Salem.

Brendon Rocha was the losing pitcher with five walks and no strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings.

Salem (1-5) hosts Perry on Saturday.

Brooke 15, Beaver Local 5

WELLSBURG, W.Va. — A 10-run second inning was enough for Brooke to subdue Beaver Local 15-5 on Friday in five innings.

Aiden Dray had a triple and three RBIs for Beaver Local.

Dray was the losing pitcher with a strikeout and five walks.

Beaver Local (0-6) plays Lowellville at Cene Park on Saturday.

Toronto 14, Oak Glen 2

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. — Toronto jumped on Oak Glen with eight runs in the first two innings to cruise to a 14-2 win in five innings on Friday.

Toronto’s pitchers limited the Golden Bears to three singles.

Bryce Cooper took the loss as he had a strikeout and six walks in 1 1/3 innings.

Oak Glen is 5-8 and will host Berkeley Springs in a doubleheader on Saturday.
