Rebels bring out the bats against Devils

COLUMBIANA –Crestview’s bats exploded for 15 hits on senior recognition day as the Rebel softball team scored a 12-0 win over Lisbon in five innings on Wednesday.
Brenna Figley sparked the Rebel attack with three doubles, a single and three RBIs from her leadoff position. Makayla McKee added a home run, single and an RBI.
Emma Snyder limited the Devils to one hit and struck out six while walking one. Snyder threw 60 pitches and 40 for strikes.
Snyder added two doubles and an RBI at the plate. Lainey Milhoan also carded two doubles and two RBIs. Alivia Shetler had a home run, single and three RBIs.
Marah Householder had Lisbon’s only hit.
Kamryn Peruchetti was tagged with the loss. All 12 runs were earned. She did not walk or strikeout a Rebel batter.
Crestview is 12-8 and will host LaBrae today.
Lisbon fell to 8-13. The Devils will host East Palestine for two on Friday.

Columbiana 17, Wellsville 1
COLUMBIANA — Columbiana hammered 20 hits in a 17-1 five-inning rout of Wellsville on Wednesday in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference action.
Maryn Hepler led the charge with four hits including two triples and a home run with an RBI for Columbiana.
Caitlynn Pleska backed her up with two doubles, two singles and four RBIs. Addison Brode had a home run, double and single with four RBIs. Ella Dota, Alivia Bell and Cameron Perkins all had doubles.
Columbiana is 18-5 overall and finished a perfect 12-0 in the EOAC.
Peyton Stoy got the win with four strikeouts and a walk in five innings of work.
Presley Stokes and Madelyn Landess had singles for the Tigers, 8-12, 2-10 in the EOAC.
Makayla Landess took the loss with four strikeouts and no walks in four innings.
Wellsville hosts Toronto on Friday for its last regular season game.
Columbiana is at Howland today.

CALCUTTA — Beaver Local swept a doubleheader with Bellaire on Wednesday.
The Beavers won the first game, 11-3. Brylee Curtis had three hits including a triple with two RBIs for the winners. Ciara Call added a home run and two RBIs. Tatum Duncan and Tori Druschel had triples, while Ally Wright, Addie Thurik and Brenna Jones had doubles.
Thurik was the winning pitcher with four strikeouts and a walk in three innings.
The Beavers won the second game 12-2 in five innings.
Thurik, Wright and Drushcel had two hits each for the Beavers in the second game. Call, Duncan, Megan Henrich and Thurik had doubles.
Call got the win with four strikeouts and two walks in two innings.
Beaver Local is 17-4 and will be at Girard today.

HANOVERTON — United’s softball team suffered a 10-3 loss to Jackson-Milton on Wednesday.
Chloe Angelo, Payten Kekel and Josie Wargo had doubles for the Eagles.
Kekel was tagged with the loss as she had six strikeouts and five walks in seven innings.
United (16-5) is at Heartland today.

Salem 9, Carrollton 5
SALEM — Aubrey Kutsko had three hits including a double as Salem stopped Carrollton 9-5 on Wednesday.
Aniya Jones had two hits and an RBI. Channing Toy had a triple.
Emilee Lewis got the win for the Quakers with six strikeouts and eight walks in seven innings.
Salem is 10-12-1 and 3-5-1 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference. The Quakers host West Branch today.

Marlington 15, Salem 0
ALLIANCE — Marlington sophomore Justine Doringo tossed a no-hitter against Salem in a 15-0 win in five innings Tuesday.
She struck out 10 and walked two.
The Dukes scored eight runs in the first inning as they improved to 9-5 overall and 5-2 in the Eastern Buckeye Confence, trailing only West Branch.
