CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The field events were once again very kind to Oak Glen on Saturday at the West Virginia State Track and Field Meet at Laidley Field.

The Golden Bears produced three more Class AA podium finishes for field events on Saturday giving the team five state placers overall in field events for the meet.

Oak Glen senior Kennsington McConnachie signed off on her career by taking third in the long jump (16-feet). Junior boys long jumper Logan Murrary followed McConnachie with a third place showing of his own in the same event (20-5).

Freshman Samantha Wilson earned her first podium at state by taking fourth in the high jump (5-0).

The lone Golden Bear to place in running events was sophomore distance runner Lacey Cameron who was fifth in the 800 (2:24.87) and 1600 (5:24.61).

Oak Glen’s girls team finished 13th as a team with 22 points.

Oak Glen boys finished tied for 17th as a team with 14 points.
