Golden Eagles drop Blue Devils
HANOVERTON — Parker Newburn struck out 14 and Quentin Taylor collected two doubles and a single in United’s 5-2 win over Lisbon on Monday.
United was scoreless until scoring three runs in the fifth innings on doubles by Newburn, Cavan Jackson and Jason Pratt. Jackson finished with two doubles and two RBIs.
Newburn got the victory, giving up two unearned runs on six hits and two walks in 6 2/3 innings. Kadin Schonhauer got the final out with a strikeout.
Brady Carpenter took the loss, giving up four earned run-on 10 hits with 10 strikeouts in seven innings.
Ashton Hinchliffe had two singles an a run and Aiden Myers two singles and an RBI for the Blue Devils.
Lisbon hosts United on Wednesday.

Leetonia 12, Southern 8
SALINEVILLE — Leetonia scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning to rally past Southern, 12-8, Monday.
CJ Faulkner had three hits and three RBIs for the Bears. Dominic Lewis and Ryan Bulford and Evan Rosko scored two runs apiece.
Faulker pitched a hitless inning. Bulford gave up five earned runs on 12 hits with six strikeouts and five walks.
For the Indians, Brody Brown doubled, singled and drove in two runs. Preston Pitts and Braden Rhodes had two hits apiece. Zac Mayfield also scored two runs.
The Indians gave up four hits, but allowed six unearned runs.

COLUMBIANA — Bradee Blankenship went 3-for-3 with double, three runs and two RBIs to give Ravenna Southeast a 7-1 win over Crestview on Monday.
Three Southeast pitchers gave up one unearned run on two hits with 11 strikeouts and five walks. Aluante Massrock pitched five scoreless innings for the victory.

Girard 11, Salem 6
GIRARD — Will Hynes hit three doubles and a single in leading Girard past Salem, 11-6, Monday.
Zach Ward also had two hits, including a double, and drove in three runs and Santino Barone had a double and a single.
Bairon Exline had three hits, including a double, and scored two runs for the Quakers. Brayden Van Dyne also had three hits. Troy Gibson scored three runs.
Derek Oesch took the loss, giving up eight earned runs on 10 hits with four strikeouts and four walks in 4 2/3 innings. Brady Hendricks gave up three unearned runs on four hits with one strikeout and one walk in 1 1/3 innings.
Salem will host Springfield today.

Marlington 2, West Branch 0
ALLIANCE — Brock Woods hit a two-run homer in the first inning as Marlington blanked West Branch, 2-0, Monday.
Sam Yoder went the distance for the victory, scattering three hits with five strikeouts and two walks over seven innings.
Anthony Perry doubled for the Warriors. He took the loss, giving up two earned runs on four hits with four strikeouts over six innings.
West Branch hosts Marlington on Wednesday.

Indian Creek 13, Beaver Local 1
CALCUTTA — Sylus Hyde and Ty Householder hit two-run home runs as Indian Creek overpowered Beaver Local, 13-1, in five innings Monday.
Both players also had doubles and totaled three RBIs.
Parker Heath got the win, giving up one earned run on four hits with three strikeouts and two walks in 1 2/3 innings.
Aiden Dray had two hits and scored a run for the Beavers.
Beaver Local will play Martins Ferry today.

Harrison Central 14, East Liverpool 1
CADIZ — Kasen Ramsey doubled in Nate Birch to give East Liverpool an early 1-0 lead Monday.
But Harrison Central’s Snyder hit an inside-the-park grand slam in the bottom of the inning for a 14-1 win in five innings.
Warrington got the victory, giving up three hits with 10 strikeouts over four innings.
Birch took the loss, giving up 14 earned runs on 11 hits with four walks in two innings. Grant Wright pitched two innings of one-hit ball with two strikeouts and one walk.
East Liverpool will play at Weirton Madonna today.

Wheeling Central 24, Oak Glen 1
WHEELING, W.Va. — Wheeling Central scored 17 runs in the first two innings and beat Oak Glen, 24-1, in five innings Monday.
The Golden Bears managed one hit by Josh Maher and struck out 10 times. Maher also took the loss in one inning of work.
Only 12 of Wheeling Central’s 24 runs were earned.
Oak Glen will travel to Weirton Madonna on Wednesday.
