WINTERSVILLE — The United boys and Southern girls ruled the day at the Indian Creek Invitational on Saturday.

Danny Milburn won three events and Trent Ellyson another in leading the United boys to victory with 105 points. Weir (W.Va.) was second with 94.

Milburn and Cayden Pitts — who ran on the Eagles’ state championship 400-meter relay team — finished 1-2 in the 100 and 200 dashes with Milburn also winning the 400 dash. Ellyson captured the discus, while the Eagles finished second in three relays.

The Southern girls were highlighted by two wins by Maddy Jones in the discus and shot put along and another by Mara Miller in the 3200 run.

The Indians scored 90 points, six more than runner-up United.

United’s Mary Boston was a three-time winner — in the long jump, joining Brinsley Hiscox, Kiley Holmes and Taylor Simmons in the 400 relay and Auston Brown, Delaney Jones and Simmons in the 1600 relay.
