Union Local jets past Potters
EAST LIVERPOOL — Union Local swept East Liverpool in a doubleheader at Patterson Field on Saturday.
The Jets won the first game 14-8. Cate Davis had a home run and three RBIs for the Potters. Trinity Pearson had three hits. Addie Jones had two hits and an RBI. Meadow O’Rourke had a double and three RBIs.
Jones took the loss with two strikeouts and four walks in 4 1/3 innings.
Union Local won the other game 21-4 in five innings. Jones had three hits and four RBIs for the Potters. O’Rourke and Pearson had two hits each. Davis was the losing pitcher with five strikeouts and a walk in five innings.
East Liverpool is at Beaver Local today.

Lisbon at Carrollton (DH)
CARROLLTON — Lisbon was swept by Carrollton on Saturday in a softball doubleheader.
Carrollton won the first game 15-0 in five innings. Abby Ammon and Brooklyn Dailey had hits for the Blue Devils. Lexi Roush took the loss with four strikeouts and two walks in four innings.
Carrollton won the second game 12-9. Roush had two hits including a triple. Ammon had a triple and two RBIs.
Roush was the losing pitcher with a strikeout and two walks in five innings.
Lisbon (0-5) is at Southern today.

Avonworth 9, Columbiana 5
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Columbiana wrapped up its Myrtle Beach trip with a 9-5 loss to Avonworth of Pittsburgh on Saturday.
Caitlynn Pleska had three hits and three RBIs for the Clippers,
Ella Dota added a double and Maryn Hepler had a triple.
Addison Brode took the loss with four strikeouts and three walks in seven innings.
Columbiana is 3-3 having gone 2-3 on the trip.
Columbiana hosts East Palestine on Monday.

West Branch 5, Girard 2
GIRARD — West Branch built a five-run lead in the fifth inning but had to hang on for a 5-3 win over Girard on Saturday.
Zoe Metzgar had a single and double for the Warriors, while Klary McKay had two hits and an RBI. Ellie Tucker had a double and Addi Craven had a triple.
Tucker was the winning pitcher with four strikeouts and two walks in four innings of work.
West Branch (1-1) hosts Ursuline on Tuesday.

Salem 14, Warren Harding 4
SALEM — Morgane Blaine struck out five and walked none while having two hits and an RBI in Salem’s 14-4 win over Warren Harding in six innings on Saturday.
Olivia Lewis had two hits for the Quakers. Only three of Salem’s runs were earned as the Raiders walked seven and had 10 errors.
Ten different Quakers scored a run and stole a base. Aubrey Kutsko doubled, singled and drove in two runs. Blaine also had two hits. Mikayla Sneltzer, Olivia Lewis and Hadley Carlisle drove in two runs apiece. Channing Toy doubled for the third time in two days and stole four bases. Kassidy Swanson had three stolen bases.
At Mineral Ridge on Friday, the Rams scored eight runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to beat the Quakers, 11-8, in a game played on the football field turf field due to rain. Mineral Ridge junior Maddie Gerberry hit a two-run home run — the first of her career — and a two-run double to highlight the sixth inning.
Salem (1-2) will host Marlington on Tuesday.

Springfield 22, Leetonia 3
NEW MIDDLETOWN — Leetonia did not manage a hit in a 22-3 five-inning loss to Springfield on Saturday.
Springfield used only six hits in its attack. Leetonia pitchers combined for 14 walks and only six runs were earned.
Carli Simms took the loss for the Bears as she had no strikeouts and nine walks in two innings.
Leetonia (0-1) is at Malvern on Monday.

Tyler at Oak Glen (DH)
NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. — Oak Glen’s softball team extended its winning streak to three games with a sweep of Tyler on Saturday.
In the first game the Bears won 16-1 in four innings. Addie Smith had a single, double, triple and an RBI for the winners. Mikalyn Balch ahd a single, home run and three RBIs. Maddie Murray had a triple. Mattie Carney, Danica Holden and Marleah Lough had doubles.
Holden was the winning pitcher with four strikeouts and no walks in 2 1/3 innings.
In the second game, Oak Glen (6-3) won 8-0 in five innings. Carney tossed three innings with six strikeouts and a walk for the Bears. Murray finished up with a strikeout and a walk in two innings.
Holden and Carney had two doubles each. Kyla Wright also had a double.
Oak Glen hosts Wheeling Central today. The Bears will play every day but Thursday this coming week.
