Pleska, Clippers walk off with a victory
COLUMBIANA — Caitlynn Pleska and the Columbiana Clippers walked off with a victory Monday.
Pleska hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Clippers a 6-4 win over Minerva. She had three hits, including a double, scored two runs and drove in two.
Freshman Addison Brode got the complete-game victory in her first varsity game, scattering four runs on nine hits and one walk with seven strikeouts.
Alivia Bell contributed three hits and an RBI and Brode doubled, singled and drove in a run.
Losing pitcher Gabby Kashdan hit a solo home run for the Lions. Dakota Breton also doubled.

Crestview 22, St. Thomas Aquinas 0
LOUISVILLE –Chloe Stoops drove in five runs and scored two more and Emma Snyder tossed a one-hitter in Crestview’s 22-0 five-inning win over St. Thomas Aquinas on Monday.
The Rebels collected 17 hits with Brenna Figley hitting two doubles and a single and scoring four runs, Makayla McKee going 3-for-3 with a double, Lilly Beaver getting a triple and a single and Emma Snyder collecting a double and a single.
Snyder struck out 11 and walked two over five innings.

East Liverpool 17, Southern 7
SALINEVILLE — The East Liverpool softball team is pounding opponents and the ball.
The Potters have totaled 38 runs during a 2-0 start, including a 17-7 six-inning win over Southern Local on Monday.
Addie Jones drove in six runs on four hits and scored three more for the Potters. She hit a two-run home run and two doubles.
Trinity Pearson added a triple, a single, four runs and two RBIs. Cate Davis doubled, singled, scored four runs and drove in two more. Alanna McGonigal had a double and three RBIs and Kylee Evans scored three runs.
Davis was the winning pitcher, striking out four and walking 10 while giving up five earned runs.
The Indians were led by Gianna Pecorelli, who went 4-for-4 with a solo home run, two RBIs and three runs scored. Kennedy Lewis had two hits and an RBI.
Makenna Jones took the loss, giving up eight earned runs on eight hits and 10 walks with four strikeouts.
In Saturday’s season opener, the Potters topped visiting Steubenville Central, 21-5. Trinity Pearson had a double and a single. Alanna McGonigal had two singles, while Cate Davis and Meadow O’Rourke each had one.
East Liverpool will host Edison on Wednesday.

Beaver Local 11, East Palestine 1
CALCUTTA — Brylee Curtis had three hits, including a solo home run and a double, three RBIs and scored two runs in Beaver Local’s 11-1 win over East Palestine in five innings Monday.
East Palestine’s Maddison Foster and Beaver Local’s Ciara Call hit solo home runs in the first inning.
Call had three hits and scored three runs, Brenna Jones hit a two-run homer and Addie Thurik had two doubles and two runs.
Mya Anderson gave up one hit and two walks with six strikouts over two innings for the victory. Megan Heinrich pitched three innings of one-hit ball, striking out four and walking one.
Graycee Ford had East Palestine’s other hit.
Kennedy Andre took the loss, giving up six earned runs on 10 hits with four strikeouts over four innings.
Beaver Local will play at Oak Glen on Wednesday.

United 13, Worthington Christian 3
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Freshman Callie Koons and sophomore Chloe Angelo each drove in four runs and the United Eagles hit three inside-the-park home runs to overpower Worthington Christian Academy, 13-3, Monday.
Freshman Payten Kekel went the distance for the victory, striking out 10 and walking six.
Grace Coffee had a home run in the third inning, Koons had a two-run homer in the fourth inning and Miller had a three-run homer to highlight a six-run sixth inning.
Miley Pitts and Josie Wargo added doubles.
United will play the Mayfield Wildcats today.
