Heartland handles Portersville
COLUMBIANA — Heartland Christian went on a 15-0 run in the first quarter and beat Portersville (Pa.) Christian, 65-18, Monday.
After falling behind early at 4-2, Heartland scored 15 straight points in two minutes with Collin Kallaher’s three-pointer giving the Lions a 17-4 lead with 4:37 left in the first quarter. Jacob Reed’s three-pointer widened the margin to 26-8 at the 2:37 mark.
Heartland scored the first 18 points on the second quarter with Spencer Pruitt’s basket off an offensive rebound making it 44-8 with 3:41 remaining in the second quarter.
The Lions led 46-10 at halftime and 59-13 through three quarters.
Heartland improves to 12-4 and will play at Conotton Valley on Friday
