CAMBRIDGE — The East Liverpool boys shared the spotlight with state power Minerva at the Cambridge Division II district cross country meet Saturday.

The Potters finished fourth in the team standings with 195 points to advance. The Minerva boys had five of the top 13 finishers to win its fourth straight district title with 44 points.

The top six teams and top 24 individuals advance to the regional meet at Pickerington North High School this Saturday.

Leading the way for the Potters were Maddox Roach in ninth place, Brody Vulgamore in 15th, Zayvier Wynn in 30th, Christopher Miller in 43rd and Nicholas Aldrich in 101st.

Beaver Local had two individual qualifiers as Jeremiah Moore was eighth and Luke Warrick was 20th.

The top-ranked and defending state champion Minerva girls had six of the top nine runners to win its seventh straight district title going away with 24 points. The Lions featured four runners under 19:50.

The Edison girls also advanced by placing fourth with 132 points.
