Firestone hosts state golf

Firestone Country Club in Akron will host the Ohio Division II state golf tournaments Sunday and Monday. The boys will play at the North Course (above) and the girls at the Fazio Course, formerly known as the West Course. The North Course opened in 1969 and has water hazards on more than half its 18 holes. The North Course has hosted two PGA events — the last American Golf Classic in 1976 won by David Graham and the NEC World Series of Golf in 1994 won by Jose Maria Olazabal.
