EAST PALESTINE — It was just like old times for the East Palestine boys basketball team.

The Bulldogs raced past East Liverpool Christian, 72-35, Friday at the old gymnasium.

It was part of a celebration of the 1997-98 East Palestine team, which captured the program’s last district title.

East Palestine took control after falling behind 11-9 early. The Warriors trailed 28-19 in the second quarter and the Bulldogs scored 17 straight points to build a 50-21 advantage in the third quarter.

It was East Palestine’s second win in 10 days against East Liverpool Christian. The Bulldogs improve to 9-11 and will host Southern at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. The girls varsity game will start at 5 p.m.
