Clippers rule EOAC

SALEM — The sixth Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference golf tournament was just like the first five.

Columbiana –led by medalist Rocco Crawford — scored a 42-stroke victory to win the EOAC again Thursday at Salem Hills Golf & Country Club. The Clippers have won all six EOAC titles and nine straight league titles overall.

The Clippers shot a 320, followed by Southern Local with a 362.

Crawford shot a 1-over 73 to beat teammate and defending league medalist Beau Velasquez by five shots. Crawford was the runner-up the past two seasons.

Backing Crawford and Velasquez for the Clippers were Bayden Pipoly with an 84, Max Grommes 85 and Anthony Hall 86.
