COLUMBIANA — The Links at Firestone Farms saw a pair of hole-in-ones on Sunday.

Ed Esenwein aced the 123-yard, No. 8 with a 9 iron. His playing partners were Tom Mackall, Tom Powers and John Bruno.

Alan Zahuranec also had a hole-in-one on the 165-yard, No. 17 with his 23-degree hybrid.

Bob Shula was his playing partner.

Stallions win USFL title

CANTON — The Birmingham Stallions defeated the Philadelphia Stars 33-30 to win the United States Football League championship on Sunday at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.

Bo Scarbrough had 13 carries for 135 yards and a touchdown for the winners.

Crew ties Union

COLUMBUS (AP) — Eloy Room made three saves for the Columbus Crew and Andre Blake had four saves for the Philadelphia Union in a scoreless draw Sunday.

The Crew (5-5-7) outshot the Union (7-2-9) 16-6, with four shots on goal to three for the Union.

The Crew visit the Chicago Fire on Saturday, while the Union will host D.C. United on Friday.
