Branch swept by Alliance

ALLIANCE — West Branch’s boys basketball team dropped its second straight game to Alliance with a 65-54 loss to the Aviators in overtime on Tuesday.

West Branch falls to 9-2 and 5-2 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference. Alliance is 9-2 and 6-1. The Aviators are even with Marlington for the league lead.

West Branch, who lost to Alliance 57-46 on Friday, will have a chance to rebound at Carrollton on Friday.

Dru DeShields sparked the Warriors with 15 points. Jaxon Hendershott added 12 points.

Gage Ford led the Aviators with 16 points.

Alliance hosts Minerva on Friday.

West Branch won the jayvee game, 37-17.

LOWELLVILLE–Columbiana struggled on the road as it fell to Lowellville on Tuesday night, 59-49.

Nick Million dazzled with a game-high 24 points and fellow Clipper Ian Less scored 10.

The Rockets outscored the Clippers (6-7) in the second half, 30-18.

Lowellville (9-2) got 21 points from Vinny Ballone and Anthony Lucente added 13.

In the reserve game, Lowellville won 24-21.

On Friday, the Clippers visit Lisbon and the Rockets visit Jackson-Milton.

BERLIN CENTER — Western Reserve conquered Crestview 62-44 on Tuesday in a Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference crossover game.

For the Rebels (3-11), Wyatt Miller led with 14 points. James Best added 10 points. Anthony Cuisck had five rebounds and four assists.

Jack Yerkey added seven points and seven boards.

Crestview led 23-20 at the half before the Blue Devils outscored the Rebels 42-20 in the second half.

Crestview won the jayvee game, 50-39. Matt Lindsay and Jameson English had 14 points each for Crestview.

The Rebels host Liberty on Friday.
