Leopards spot Quakers

SALEM — It was a quick tournament exit for the Salem boys soccer team as Louisville scored a 2-0 Div. II sectional opener win over the Quakers on Tuesday at Sebo Stadium.

Drew Dillen’s goal right before halftime on an assist from Angelo Paquelet gave the Leopards the advantage after the team threatened for most of the half.

Dominic Porter-Kovacich added a goal for the Leopadrds in the second half on an assist from Myles Lab.

Salem finishes the season 10-6-1.

Jon Null had 13 saves for the Quakers.

Louisville (6-5-5) will travel to Mentor Lake Catholic for a sectional final at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Field 10, West Branch 0

MOGADORE — Mogadore Field dominated West Branch, 10-0, in a Div. II boys sectional opener Tuesday.

Field (6-4-3) advances to meet Canfield at 4 p.m. on Saturday at Canfield.

West Branch ends its season at 3-13.

Leetonia 9, Maplewood 1

LEETONIA — Leetonia’s girls soccer team upended Maplewood 9-1 on Tuesday in a Div. III sectional opener.

Leetonia scored four in the first half and five in the second half to secure the win.

For the Bears, Ella Gregorino had three goals and three assists. Maddy Steiskal had goals as well. Madison Gregory had two goals and Erin Drake had a goal. Paige Newbold had an assist.

Lexi Solomon Hansen had seven saves in goal.

The Bears advance to travel to Burton Berkshire at 6 p.m. on Thursday in the sectional final.

Mineral Ridge 6, Heartland 1

MINERAL RIDGE — Nate Colburn, Elias Clarke and Landon Pal each had two goals as Mineral Ridge downed Heartland 6-1 in a Div. III boys soccer sectional opener on Tuesday.

Mineral Ridge travels to Ursuline for a 1 p.m. sectional final on Saturday.
