Jackson-Milton 3, Columbiana 1

NORTH JACKSON — Columbiana wrapped up the regular season with a 16-6 record after dropping a 25-21, 22-25, 25-20, 25-17 decision to Jackson-Milton on Thursday.

Ellie Jackson topped the Clippers with 19 pionts, seven aces, 14 assists and nine digs. Tori Long contributed seven points, three aces, 13 kills and 21 digs; Olivia Cmil four points and 30 digs; Tomi Ross three points, 10 assists and five digs; and Julia Rapp two points, six kills and three blocks.

Columbiana won the junior varsity match, 15-25, 25-16, 25-16, to wrap up a 15-4 season. Danica Halas had four points, three aces, nine kills and seven digs and Brileigh Kocanjer three aces and five kills for Columbiana.

The Clippers will host Lordstown at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Division IV sectional tournament.

Marlington 3, West Branch 0

ALLIANCE — Marlington wrapped up sole possession of the Eastern Buckeye Conference title — the Dukes’ fifth straight league crown — by sweeping second-place West Branch, 25-15, 25-22, 25-12, Thursday.

The Dukes improve to 17-3 overall and 11-0 in the EBC, while the Warriors drop to 18-4 and 9-3 EBC.

Sydney Mercer totaled four points and 12 kills for West Branch. Adele Peters had four points with two aces and was the defensive leader, while Hannah Rush collected 24 assists.

Marlington also won the junior varsity match, 25-9, 25-12.

Marlington will host Salem at 11 a.m. Saturday.
