Wellsville two up on Southern

WELLSVILLE — Wellsville opened up a two-game lead in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference by dowing the Indians, 25-6, 25-13, 25-20, Saturday.

The Tigers, ranked 13th in the latest Division IV state poll, improve to 12-0 overall and 9-0 in EOAC play. The Indians are 9-3 and 7-2 EOAC.

Wellsville was led by Presley Stokes had 19 kills and two blocks; Alana Amato 13 kills and three blocks; Sam Drysdale four blocks and one kill; Emily McNicol 20 assist, one block and one kill; Paige Green 13 assists; and Aubri Ramsey 14 digs and two aces.

For the Indians, Ashley Shroades had 25 attacks and eight kills, Audeiana Gilliam 24 attack and four kills, Rylee Mellott 40 sets and 12 assists and Aleah Bach four kills.

Wellsville also won the junior varsity match, 25-6, 25-11. Olivia Kerns had four kills for Southern.

Crestview 3, Alliance 0

COLUMBIANA — Crestview rolled over Alliance, 25-10, 25-14, 25-18, Saturday.

The Rebels, ranked seventh in the latest Division III state poll, improve to 15-0.

Leaders for the Rebels were Lucy Montgomery with 11 kills, 12 assists, two blocks, eight aces and eight digs; Grace Auer 110 kills, nine assists and nine digs; Abbey Emch four kills, four blocks and two aces; Ashley Rambo seven kills and one blck; and Lainey Mercure eight digs.

Crestview also won the junior varsity match, 25-12, 25-11, to move to 15-0 on the season. Katie Lissi had five kills and Madalyn Black five aces for the Rebels.

Oak Glen wins two

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. — Oak Glen swept a pair of matches from Tyler Consolidated and Parkersburg South on Saturday.

The Golden Bears topped Tyler Consolidated, 26-24, 19-25, 29-27, as Ashlyn Six had 19 kills.

McKenzi Martin added 12 kills and two blocks, Makayla Zoellers six kills and two blocks, Teya Hall eight digs and Gracie Wright 37 assists.

The Golden Bears also topped Parkersburg South in teao games.

Ashlyn Six had 13 kills and two aces for the Golden Bears. Emma Renfro collected four kills and one block, Sydney Smith three aces and Gracie Wright had 19 assists and one ace.

Oak Glen improves to 7-5 and will play at Weirton Maddona on Tuesday.
