LISBON — The Wellsville Tigers are off and running in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference.

Led by Presley Stokes’ 12 kills, six aces and three blocks, the Tigers landed a 25-8, 25-13, 25-12 win over Lisbon on Tuesday.

Alana Amato had 10 kills and five aces. Emily McNicol had 13 assists and two kills. Paige Green had 10 assists. Gia Pucci had two kills and three aces. Aubri Ramsey had 10 digs and three aces.

For Lisbon, Eliza Baker had three points, two kills, eight digs. Izzy Lannon had five points. McKenna Dailey had 11 digs.

Wellsville (10-0, 7-0) is ranked 12th in the state in the Div. IV Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association poll.

Wellsville’s JV team beat Lisbon, 25-13, 26-24.

Lisbon (2-8) visits Toronto today.

East Palestine 3, United 2

EAST PALESTINE — East Palestine clipped United in five sets on Tuesday, 25-21, 22-25, 25-23, 10-25, 16-14.

Mia Lee scored 12 points, three aces, and eight kills for the Bulldogs (8-3, 5-3). Teammate Sophia Foster added nine points, nine kills, and 24 digs.

Ceci Foster chimed in with nine points, three aces, two kills, and 10 helpers for the winners.

Grace Knight served 11 straight points late in the fourth game to give the Eagles a 24-9 lead.

East Palestine scored the first four points in the fifth game before United surged ahead 13-10 on a Taylor Cope kill.

United led 13-12 and 14-13, but East Palestine rallied to tie the score both times. East Palestine scored the final two points to win the match.

For the Eagles, Grave Knight had 21 points with four being aces. Tori Tschappatt had 13 points with one being an ace.

In the JV game, the Bulldogs topped United, 25-14, 25-11. Maddison Foster scored 15 points and teammate Gabby Andrie tacked on 11 points.

East Palestine visits Heartland today.

United visits Lisbon on Thursday.

Crestview 8, Champion 0

WARREN — Crestview dumped Champion 25-7, 25-8, 25-10 on Tuesday in Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference Gray Division action.

Crestview is 13-0 and 8-0 on in the league. The Rebels also are ranked seventh in the state in the first Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association poll of the season.

For the Rebels, Shelby Rambo had 10 kills, while Grace Auer added eight kills, 18 assists, a block and five aces. Hannah Cope had five aces. Emily Downey had five aces. Abbey Emch had seven kills and five blocks. Lucy Montgomery had four kills and four assists.

The Rebels won the jayvee match, 25-14, 25-11.

Alyssa Smotherman had six aces and six assists. Ashleigh Hodge had five kills.

Crestview hosts Brookfield on Thursday.

Southern 3, Valley 0

SALINEVILLE — Southern Local rolled past Valley Christian, 25-11, 25-11, 25-16, Tuesday.

The Indians improve to 8-2 overall and 6-1 in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play.

Rylee Mellott collected 14 points, 12 assists and two kills for the Indians. Ronni Mayfield had 13 points and 14 assists, Ashley Shroades 19 attacks and 11 kills and Aleah Bach 11 points, nine spikes and five kills.

Southern also won the junior varsity match, 25-8, 25-3, as Cheyenne Bennett totaled 16 points and 10 assists. Gigi Rodgers added eight points, Kennedy Lewis four kills and Olivia Kerr two kills.

Southern will play at Leetonia on Thursday.

Salem 3, Alliance 0

SALEM — Salem’s volleyball team knocked off Alliance 25-11, 25-23, 25-17 on Tuesday.

For Salem, Rylie Troy had four aces, 10 kills, 14 digs and seven assists. Jenna McClish had 13 digs. Makenna Rudy had six kills. Zoie Reid had seven kills and six digs. Emma Hochadel had five aces, 13 assists and six digs.

Marlington 3, West Branch 0

BELOIT — West Branch’s unbeaten run to start the season is over.

Marlington swept the Warriors in straight sets 25-14, 25-13, 25-15 on Tuesday in Eastern Buckeye Conference play.

Hannah Rush had four points and 17 assists. Sydney Mercer had nine kills. Ragan Greeniesen had 15 digs.

West Branch, ranked 17th in the state in Div. II in the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association poll, is 11-1.

Marlington won the jayvee match, 25-20, 25-20. Addison Craven had four points for Branch.

West Branch hosts Alliance on Thursday.

Columbiana 3, Leetonia 0

COLUMBIANA — State-ranked Columbiana knocked off Leetonia 25-11, 25-19, 25-6 on Tuesday in Eastern Buckeye Conference play.

The Clippers (10-3, 7-2 in the EOAC) are ranked 20th in Div. IV in the first Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association poll of the season.

For the Clippers, Tori Long had five kills, four aces, 11 digs and 15 points. Tomi Ross had 11 assists, four aces, eight digs and 10 points. Julia Rapp had eight kills and eight points. Cameron Perkins had 14 assists, six digs and six points. Liv Cmil had 15 digs.

Maryn Helper had 10 aces and 19 points as the Clippers won the jayvee match 25-7, 25-9.

Columbiana hosts East Palestine on Thursday.

Indian Creek 3, Oak Glen 0

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. — Indian Creek subdued Oak Glen 25-15, 25-19, 25-21 on Tuesday.

For the Golden Bears, Ashlyn Six had 14 kills. Makayla Zoellers and Emma Renfro had two kills each. Gracie Wright had 20 assists. Sydney Smith had five digs and Teya Hall had seven digs.

Oak Glen is 5-4.

The Bears won the jayvee match, 16-25, 25-20, 25-16. Reecelyn Craig had seven kills and six digs. Hannah Kliner had four kills and 10 digs. Tia Vick had four kills and five aces.

Mineral Ridge 3, Sebring 0

MINERAL RIDGE — Mineral Ridge bested Sebring 27-25, 25-11, 25-18 on Tuesday.

Ridge is 8-4 and 6-2 in the league.
