Branch gives DeShields 300th

CANTON –West Branch volleyball coach Penny DeShields earned her 300th career win as the Warriors bested Canton South 25-23, 25-12, 25-19 on Tuesday.

For West Branch (8-0, 2-0 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference), Sydney Mercer had eight points and three aces. Ragan Greeneisen had 11 points and 14 digs. Hannah Rush had 27 assists. Mercer and Showalter had 11 kills each.

West Branch won the jayvee match, 25-23, 25-21. Iabel Martig had six points and two aces. Addison Craven had seven points and three aces.

Lisbon 3, Leetonia 0

LEETONIA — Lisbon downed Leetonia 25-23, 25-16, 25-7 on Tuesday in EOAC play.

McKenna Dailey ahd nine points and 11 digs for the winners, 2-6. Eliza Baker had eight kills and five digs.

Kelsi Burns had 10 points.

Lisbon won the jayvee portion, 25-9, 25-8. Cami Freeland had 11 points for the Devils.

Lisbon is at Southern on Thursday.

East Palestine 3, Southern 0

EAST PALESTINE — East Palestine jumped on Southern Local for a 25-17, 28-26, 25-20 win on Tuesday.

For East Palestine, Mia Lee had four points, three blocks and 18 digs. Sophia Foster had 22 points, six kills and 13 digs. Elle Berger five points and six kills. Gia Brestelli had nine points and 19 digs. MacKenzie Parker had 20 assists.

The Indians drop to 5-2 overall.

For Southern, Rylee Mellott had 13 points, 68 sets, 14 assists, eight kills and two blocks; Ronni Mayfield 50 sets, 10 assists and one kill; Ashley Shroades 28 spikes and 10 kills; and Adriana Gilliam 29 attacks and five kills.

Southern won a marathon jayvee match. 25-19, 23-25, 26-24.

For the Indians, Cheyenne Bennett had four points, 27 sets and 14 assists; Kennedy Lewis four kills; Chelsei Veglia three points and 20 digs; Gigi Rodgers three kills and two blocks; and Olivia Kerns 15 spikes, seven kills and two blocks.

East Palestine hosts Chaney today, while Southern hosts Lisbon on Thursday.

Columbiana 3, Valley 0

COLUMBIANA — Columbiana surged past Valley Christian 25-5, 25-13, 25-11 on Tuesday in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play.

For the Clippers (7-3, 5-2), Julia Rapp had seven kills, seven aces and three digs. Cameron Perkins had four kills, 13 assists and 14 digs. Tori Long had four aces and five digs. Tomi Ross had three kills, 11 assists, three aces and eight digs. Camille Zentner had five kills and two blocks.

Columbiana’s jayvees were 25-5, 25-7. The Clippers are 9-1.

Mary Hepler had three kills, four assists, five aces and nine points. Avery Marshall had two kills, four assists, two aces and nine points.

Columbiana hosts United Thursday.

Wellsville 3, United 0

HANOVERTON — Wellsville dominated United 25-16, 25-16, 25-10 on Tuesday in EOAC play.

For the Tigers (7-0), Alana Amato had 13 kills and 10 aces. Presley Stokes had 12 kills and five aces. Paige Green had 13 assists, three aces and three digs. Aubri Ramsey had five digs and three aces. Emily McNicol had four kills and 11 assists. Stakya Travers-Sallis had a kill, a block and three assists.

Wellsville hosts East Palestine on Thursday.

Crestview 3, LaBrae 0

COLUMBIANA — Lucy Montgomery had 10 kills and 12 assists as Crestview smoked LaBrae 25-7, 25-12, 25-23 on Tuesday.

Crestview is 9-0 and 5-0 in the MVAC Gray.

Grace Auer added 10 kills, seven assists and 11 digs. Shelby Rambo had five kills. Abbey Emch had four kills and two aces. Kendra Greaves had four assists and 18 digs.

LaBrae is 6-3.

Crestview won the jayvee portion 25-14, 25-16 to move to 9-0. Maddy Black had seven kills. Katie Lissi had six kills.

Crestview hosts Liberty on Thursday.
