2003 East Palestine graduate and USA Women’s Rugby Sevens operations manager Liz Strohecker, pictured third from left in the front row, was a part of a USA Women Rugby Sevens team photo during the team’s training camp in Mimasaka, Japan. The team is now in the Olympic Village in Tokyo as it awaits the start of its tournament. The USA will open with China at 9 p.m. EST on Wednesday at Tokyo Stadium. Japan will follow at 5 a.m. on Thursday and pool play will wrap up at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday against defending gold-medalist Australia. Placement and quarterfinal matches start as early as 3 a.m. on Friday. The first two pool matches are scheduled to be televised on USA Network with the match against Australia slated for CNBC. The quarterfinals matches are slated for the USA Network. The semifinals are not scheduled to be televised as of yet, but the bronze and gold medal matches will be on the USA Network.
