Warriors control Clippers

COLUMBIANA — West Branch held off a late Columbiana comeback in the bottom of the seventh to best the Clippers 5-2 on Saturday.

Beau Alazaus had two hits for the winners, 15-7.

Riley McElwain had two doubles for the Clippers.

West Branch hosts Carrollton today.

Columbiana (14-6) host United today.

LEETONIA — Lisbon swept a doudleheader against Leetonia on Saturday with 12-2 and 13-2 wins in four innings.

Tyler Welsh had a hit and two RBIs in the first game for the Devils. Hunter Sturgeon added a hit and three RBIs. Adam Spencer had two hits.

Damien McCormick had three hits and two RBIs for the winners in the second game. Welsh had a double and Jason Steves had a home run and three RBIs.

Lisbon is 10-9 and is at Southern today.

SALINEVILLE — Springfield got two hits and two RBIs from Nate LaBoy and a pair of hits from Braden Butler to top Southern Local 9-3 on Saturday.

Southern was limited to two hits, one each from Aiden Spahlinger and Conner Lewis.

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. — Maddie McKay added another no-hitter to her total as Oak Glen rolled past North Marion 10-1 in five innings on Saturday.

Oak Glen is 13-0.

McKay had 14 strikeouts and one walk in five innings of work. She also had a double and single at the plate.

Sydney Brown had a double and home run for the winners. Olivia Munoz also had a home run.

Oak Glen hosts Weirton Madonna on Monday.

LEETONIA — Mya Emmerling had four singles and a double with seven RBIs as Lisbon downed Leetonia 21-1 on Saturday.

McKenna Dailey had a double and home run with three RBIs. Anna Marshalek had a double and single with two RBIs.

Lisbon is 13-4 and 8-1 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference.

Lisbon will host Southern on Tuesday.

West Branch softball

West Branch had a busy Saturday with a 21-3 win at Alliance in the the early afternoon and a 12-0 win over Carrollton at home later in the afternoon.

West Branch is 18-5 and 8-1 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference.

The Warriors have a key game at league-leading Marlington on Monday.

Against Alliance Jordan Anderson had two singles, two doubles and two RBIs. Destany Blake had three hits and an RBI. Skyler Greeneisen had three hits including a double and two RBIs.

Against Carrollton, Ryley Pittman had two doubles, a homer and four RBIs. Sydney Mercer had a single, home run and an RBI. Anderson had a home run and three RBIs.
