Sloan sets OVAC record

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Brad Sloan won the long jump with a Class 1A/2A record leap of 22-3.25 to lead Southern Local at the OVAC Track and Field Championships on Saturday at Red Devil Stadium.

Sloan was also third in the 100 dash (11.42).

For the Indians, Jessica Lafferty was second in the girls the long jump (14-9.5).

Zack Tribelo was also second in the boys 800 run (2:12.36).

The Indians’ girls shuttle hurdle team of Brooke Brown, Lindsey Bregar, Mekenna Sheets and Elizabeth Mostella was fourth (1:29.66).

Southern’s boys shuttle hurdle team of Sloan, Evan Haught, Tyler Rawlings and Zack Tribelo was third (1:24.99).

Southern’s boys 3200 relay of Cameron Sloan, Marcus Reed, Logan Redfern and Gavin Tribelo was fourth in 9:30.29. The 1600 relay of Cam Sloan, Evan Haught, Colton Soukup and Zack Tribelo was fourth (3:56.37).
