ALLIANCE — Salem’s Lane Rhodes threw a complete game to boost the Quaker win streak to five as the Quakers downed Alliance 2-1 on Tuesday in Eastern Buckeye Conference play.

Aviator standout Gavin Bruni went five innings and held the Quakers hitless before exiting.

Gavin Wilms two-out, two-run double put the Quakers ahead in the sixth.

Salem is 5-1 and 3-0 in the league and will host Alliance today.

LISBON — Lisbon held off a late United rally to down the Eagles 7-4 on Tuesday.

United scored three runs in the seventh to make it interesting.

Tyler Graham, Adam Spencer and Hunter Sturgeon had two hits each for the Devils.

Brock Rhodes had two hits and two RBIs for the Eagles.

Lisbon is 3-2 and 3-0 in the EOAC.

COLUMBIANA — Columbiana’s baseball team defeated Heartland 13-1 in five innings on Tuesday at Firestone Park.

The game was arranged in the early afternoon due to a schedule change.

Columbiana moved to 3-1 while Heartland fell to 3-1.

Alex Eusebio had his first win the Clippers on the mound. Riley McElwain went 3 for 4 with an RBI for Columbiana. Brady Dixon had a single, double and two RBIs. Seth Spooner added a single, double and three RBIs. Carson Dota had a hit and an RBI. Brady Kridler had a hit and an RBI.

Columbiana is at Leetonia today.

Sam Campbell picked up the win by pitching five scoreless inning and striking out 11. Kyle Saunders pitched a scoreless sixth inning and Carter Blakeman earned the save.

Liberty’s Trevor Strohmeyer went 2-for-2.

Trey Pancake socked a two-run homer for the winners. Michael Perry had a triple and Aidan English had a double.
