Lisbon blasts United

HANOVERTON — Justyce Vrable and Kaity Clark each hit a home run and drove in five runs in leading Lisbon past United, 24-2, in five innings Monday.

Vrable went 4-for-5 with a double and a long three-run home run with two outs in the second inning to give the Blue Devils a 5-0 lead. Clark had three hits, including a three-run homer and a two-run double.

Lisbon improves to 3-1 overall and 3-0 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference, tied with Columbiana for the league lead. United drops to 3-1 and 2-1 EOAC.

The Blue Devils scored nine runs in the third inning and 10 in the fourth.

Mya Emmerling went 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs. Anna Marshalek contributed three hits and an RBI.

Emma Thompson scattered seven hits for the victory.

United was led by Tori Firth, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, and Colby Burton with a double and a single.

The two teams play today in Lisbon.

UNITY — Mackenzi Gamble had a home run, triple, single and five RBIs as Columbiana routed East Palestine 17-0 in five innings on Monday.

Gamble also struck out 13 on the mound for her second win of the season.

Maci Linhart also homered. Ava Davanzo had three doubles and two RBIs.

The two teams play again today at Firestone Park.

SALINEVILLE — Taran Ferry and Delaney Roller each had two hits and two runs in leading Leetonia over Southern Local, 10-3, Monday.

The Bears scored runs in each of the final six innings for the victory.

For the Indians, Ronni Mayfield singled and scored two runs and Alexis Ensinger singled and scored a run.

The teams will play at Leetonia today.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — South Range split a pair on Monday during action in Myrtle Beach.

Bree Kohler pitched a perfect game in the Raiders’ 11-0 win over Carolina Forest in the first game.

Kohler had 12 strikeouts. Samantha Susany had three hits and two RBIs for the winners. Madison Dado added two singles.

Clover (South Carolina) beat the Raiders 11-0 in the second game of the day.

Reagan Irons had two singles and a double for the Raiders, while Dado, Susany, Juli Stachowiscz and Kelly Szolek had two hits each.

South Range plays two games today.
