Crestview tops Brookfield

COLUMBIANA — Kyle Saunders and Carter Blakeman combined on a one-hitter as Crestview topped Brookfield, 4-1, Wednesday.

Saunders allowed an unearned run and no hits over six innings for the victory.

Sam Campbell had two hits and Blakeman doubled and drove in two runs.

Salem 6, Carrollton 2

CARROLLTON — Salem rallied past Carrollton, 6-2, Wednesday to remain perfect in the Eastern Buckeye Conference.

The Quakers scored three runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to improve to 17-3 overall and 8-0 in the EBC.

Gavin Wilms earned the complete-game victory, shutting out the Warriors over the last five innings.

Nick Coletta had a two-out, bases-loaded double and Lane Rhodes an RBI single in the fifth inning for the Quakers.

In the sixth, Jacson Johnson had a two-out, two-run single after Darius Beck drove in a run with a double.

Beck and Rhodes each had two hits and two runs.

Jaxson Rinkes went 4-for-4 with an RBI to lead Carrollton.

Carrollton will host United today, while Salem will play at Howland on Friday.

STRUTHERS — Rootstown scored seven runs in the first inning on the way to a 17-7 six-inning win over United at Cene Park Wednesday.

The Rovers led 16-4 through four innings before the Eagles scored three runs in the fifth inning to close withing 16-7 and delay the 10-run mercy rule.

Grant Knight topped the Eagles with a double.

United will play at Carrollton today.

CANTON — Canton South scored five runs in the second inning to rally past West Branch, 5-2, in Eastern Buckeye Conference play Wednesday.

Mitchell and Stauffer each went 3-for-3 for Canton South.

West Branch is 13-6 overall and 4-4 in the EBC.

Brock Hillyer and Kole Edwards each had two hitss for the Warriors.

EAST LIVERPOOL — Oak Glen improved to 6-5 on the season with a 14-1 win over East Liverpool on Wednesday.

The Golden Bears opened up a 6-0 lead until East Liverpool scored its only run on a Mason Ludwig RBI single in the fourth inning.

Oak Glen scored two more runs int he sixth inning and added six runs in the seventh inning to pull away.

East Liverpool(8-11) will host Carrollton on Friday.

South Range 14, Lakeview 2

CORTLAND — Trey Pancake collected four hits and five RBIs in leading South Range past Lakeview, 14-2, Wednesday.

The Raiders, ranked 14th in the Division III state poll, improve to 13-5 overall and 8-1 in the Northeast 8.

Pancake homered and doubled for the Raiders, who pounded six extra-base hits.

Aiden English tossed a three-hitter, while hitting two doubles and driving in three runs. Michael Markulin doubled ans singled. Brandon Mikos singled twice and Michael Perry doubled.

South Range plays Ursuline on Saturday at Cene Park.

YOUNGSTOWN — Sebring’s Matt Byrd tossed a no-hitter, but the Trojans lost 5-4 to Youngstown East on Wednesday.

Byrd struck out eight and allowed two earned runs.

Dylan Johnson topped the Trojans by going 2-for-3 with an REBI.

Sebring is scheduled to host Youngstown Chaney today.
