Grimes rolls 690 in another Potter victory

ZANESVILLE –East Liverpool’s Paxton Grimes had a 690 three-game series Thursday to highlight the Potters’ sweep of Zanesville Maysville at at Sunrise Bowling Center.

Grimes had game of 247-227-216 during the Potters’ 3,162-2,108 victory. The teams rolled three-game series because of the two-hour trip the Potters made.

Other high games for the Potters (10-3) were Anthony DeMarco with a 205, Derek Klein 201 and Logan Simms 195.

The East Liverpool girls moved to 8-5 with a 23,99-2,103 win.

Madyson McGaffic led the way with a 189 game and 324 series and Delaney Riggle with a 195 game and 321 series. Haley Spahr contributed a 155 game and Kyah Newlun a 148 game.

East Liverpool will host Crestview on Monday at Walnut Lanes.

United sweeps Marlington

United’s boys and girls bowling teams swept Marlington on Thursday to run their winning streaks to five each.

The Eagle girls won 1,920-1,677. Dorothy Herold had a 181 high game and 342 series, followed by Sara Syppko with a 165 game.

United’s boys were 2,352-1,986 winners. The Eagles boys was led by Chris Combs with a 214 game, followed by Austin Sarchet with a 211 game. Garrett Bailey had a 409 series, with 204 and 205 games.
