Heartland knocks off Blue Devils
COLUMBIANA — Heartland knocked off Lisbon, 25-13, 25-19, 25-11, Monday.
Lysida Wilson totaled 36 assists, 14 points, two aces and seven digs for the Lions. Emma Hall had 11 points, four aces, 15 kills, 10 digs and three blocks; Madison Matthews 10 points, five aces, two kills and three blocks; Makayla Osborn 15 kills and 13 digs; and Mya Hoffman seven points and two aces.
For Lisbon, Mya Emmerling had six points and McKenna Dailey added eight digs.
Lisbon (3-7) hosts United today. Heartland (5-5) hosts East Palestine Wednesday.
Lisbon won the jayvee match, 25-13, 25-15, behind Madison Marriner’s 20 points.
For the Lions, Jiana Shar had six points, three aces and nine digs and Elise Wintersteller four points and four kills.
United 3, Lordstown 0
LORDSTOWN — United dropped Lordstown 25-21, 25-21, 25-21 on Monday.
United is 9-3. For the Eagles, Savannah Burton had 17 points, four aces and five kills. Taylor Cope had nine points, three aces and four kills. Tori Tschappatt had 15 kills and seven points. Haley Dees had 25 assists.
United is at Lisbon today.
United won the jayvee match, 25-22, 25-15. Samantha Lippiatt had six points and two aces. Grace Knight had three points, three aces and five kills.
Southern 3, Bellaire St. John 1
BELLAIRE — Southern Local made the trip worth it Monday.
The Indians beat Bellaire St. John, 26-24, 25-20, 21-25, 25-13, to improve to 4-7 on the season.
Katelynn Exline totaled 17 points and Rylee Mellott 12 points and 24 assists for the Indians. Ashley Shrodes had 36 attacks and 12 kills and Hannah Reynolds six kills.
Southern also won the junior varsity match, 25-9, 25-8, as Katie Caleron had 13 points, Makaya Shaw 11 points and Esther Forbes four kills.
The Indians will play at Leetonia today.
Beaver 3, Edison 0
RICHMOND — Beaver Local’s varsity volleyball team knocked off Edison 25-13, 25-12, 25-16 on Monday.
For the state-ranked Beavers, Bailey Bowersock had eight digs. Karlee Furman had four aces, six kills, 19 assists, five digs and 10 points. Grace Hill had eight kills. Kodi Kinsey had six aces, seven digs and 14 points. Elizabeth Kolkowski had seven kills and three blocks. Erin O’Hara had four kills. Leah Riccardo had four aces, three kills, two digs and 12 points. Emma Roberts had four digs and six points. Brooke Talbot had 10 kills, seven assists and eight digs. Cierrah Thurik had nine digs.
The Beavers are at Steubenville on Wednesday.
The Beaver jayvees were 25-16, 25-10 winners. Peyton Roberts had five aces, six kills and three digs. Briar Wolski had six kills as did Becca Buchheit. Madison Lowe had four kills and 12 digs.
The freshman Beavers were 25-18, 25-13 winners. Shay Mackall had four aces, two kills, four assists and four digs. Kamren Martin had four kills as did Peyton Roberts.
South Range 3, St. Thomas 0
GREENFORD — South Range downed St. Thomas Aquinas 25-13, 25-13, 25-10 on Monday.
For the winners, Izzy Lamparty had 15 kills, Reagan Irons 15 digs, Bri Hiner 19 assists and four aces. Reagan Irons had 15 digs.
South Range won the jayvee portion, 25-9, 25-10.
COLUMBIANA — Crestview topped Salem 25-21, 25-19 on Monday in freshman action.
For the Rebels, Gianna Wycoff had 11 points, eight aces and six digs. Sophia Lewis had four points, an ace, five digs and two kills.
Crestview is at Canfield on Sept. 28.
