Beaver wallops Minerva

CALCUTTA — Beaver Local left Minerva in the dust.

The Beavers’ Dylan Moore took the opening kick 85 yards for a touchdown as the Beavers made quick work of the Lions in a 56-7 victory on Friday.

The Beavers are 3-1 and have won three straight. Beaver heads to Edison next Friday.

Minerva had multiple false start penalties which slowed the game to a crawl at points in the first quarter.

Beaver ignited the crowd again when Zane Kinsey made an acrobatic catch on a pass from Tanner Johnston to push it to 13-0.

Joseph Monte added a safety after tackling Minerva’s Chance Martineau in the end zone.

Following the safety, Caleb White returned a kick for a touchdown to push the Beaver lead to 22-0.

Johnston closed the quarter with a 59-yard run to make it 29-0.

Minerva has lost nine straight and 53 of 54 games.
