Columbiana girls off to a perfect start on the links

COLUMBIANA — Columbiana’s girls golf team topped Struthers 199-248 on Thursday at Valley.

For the Clippers (4-0), Morgan Dunlap had a 45, Cassie Spaite 52, Mackenzie Coder 49 and Katrina Patrick 53.

Taylor Susany had a 50 to lead Struthers.

Columbiana hosts Ursuline today.

Northeast 8 quad

JEFFERSON — Jefferson edged Lakeview, Poland and South Range on Thursday in Northeast 8 golf play at Hickory Grove.

Jefferson shot 166 and was led by Zach Ashba’s 41.

South Range shot 171. For the Raiders, Gavin Batdorff had a 39, Kaiden Sykes 40, Garrett Sheets 46 and Gavin Pahanish 46.

Poland had a 180 and Lakeview shot 189.

Lisbon at Wellsville

EAST LIVERPOOL — Lisbon and Wellsville faced off in a golf match on Monday at Cedar Hills.

Wellsville only had two available golfers so it was not a full team competition.

Lisbon shot 196 as a team. For the Blue Devils, Joey Diludovico had a 46, Brayden Flory 52, Bobby Harris 51 and Kyle Rohm 47.

Luke Green shot a 41 and Casey Lemasters a 51 for Wellsville.

Crestview 198, LaBrae 213

NEWTON FALLS — Crestview’s golf team came out on top of LaBrae 198-213 on Thursday at Riverview Golf Course.

For the Rebels, A.J. Robb had a 44, Emily Hill 48, Matt Wollet 51 and Braden Urmson 55.

Sam Bailey led LaBrae with a 48.

Crestview hosts Heartland on Monday at Beaver Creek Meadows.

Beaver Local 160, Toronto 171

TORONTO — Beaver Local’s boys golf team moved to 7-0 with a 160-171 win over Toronto on Thursday at Dyer Country Club.

For the Beavers, Luke Eyster had a 36, Sky Pappas 39, Laden Cameron 42 and Logan Ours 43.

For Toronto, Hunter Keenan carded a 41.

East Liverpool tri

EAST LIVERPOOL — East Liverpool’s golf team secured wins over Buckeye Local and Steubenville Central on Thursday at the East Liverpool Country Club.

East Liverpool scored 186 as a team followed by Buckeye Local’s 198 and Steubenville Central’s 201.

For the Potters, Nate Kelly had a 2-over-par 38. Cameron Beverly had a 42, Paxton Grimes 50 and Jake Smith 56. Buckeye Local was led by Josh Kerkuta’s 47. The Crusaders were paced by Cole Tegano’s 43.

East Liverpool will be at the first round of the Buckeye 8 tournament on Monday at the Cadiz Country Club.

Heartland 232, East Liverpool Christian 271

SALEM — Heartland Christian outlasted East Liverpool Christian 232-271 on Thursday at Flying B.

For the Lions, Landon Linhart had a 49, Hayden Stewart 51, Zach Labon 66 and Zach McGown 66.

Heartland is 1-1 and plays Crestview on Monday at Beaver Meadows.

SALEM — United’s girls tennis team defeated Southeast 3-2 on Thursday at Centennial Park.

United is at West Branch today.

FIRST SINGLES: Isabelle Collye (SE) def. Emily McKarns, 6-4, 6-0

SECOND SINGLES: Hannah Baker (U) def. Brianna Simms 6-0, 6-2

THIRD SINGLES: Hadley Brereton (U) def. Georgia Saylor, 6-1, 6-2

FIRST DOUBLES: Riley Dangel-Erica Gudat (U) Def. Emma (Noah) Reynolds-Kylee Livengood, 6-0, 6-3

SECOND DOUBLES: Lorelei Finney-Laura Legros (SE) def. Julia Bricker-Lindi Stamp, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2.
