Clipper already at 130

COLUMBIANA — More than 130 runners have preregistered for the the 22nd annual Clipper Cross Country Series that opens tonight.

There will be four races today with up to 50 runners in each race to help maintain social distancing.

The 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. races are filled, while the 6:30 p.m. race has some openings and a 7:30 p.m. race was added.

The summer cross country series will be held four straight Wednesdays on the 1.85-mile middle school course at the Ward Athletic Complex behind Columbiana High School.

Participants are encouraged to register online at secondsoleracing.com. Runners can register for any remaining spots before today’s races beginning at 6 p.m.

Cost is $6 per runner per race. Proceeds will benefit the Columbiana cross country and track programs. For more information, email crystal.boggs@columbianaschools.org.
